Timothy S. Rausch Joins the Ameren Board of Directors

Ameren Corporation has officially announced that Timothy S. Rausch is now a member of their board of directors, effective March 1. Rausch brings a wealth of experience in nuclear energy management, making him a promising addition to the leadership team at Ameren.

Previously serving as the executive vice president and chief nuclear officer at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) from October 2018 until July 2025, Rausch played a crucial role in overseeing operations for a federally owned electric utility that provides services to over 10 million people across the southeastern United States. His background showcases a long-standing commitment to excellence in nuclear generation, making him a respected figure within the industry.

Before his time at TVA, Rausch held significant positions in several other major energy companies. As the senior vice president and chief nuclear officer at Talen Energy Corporation from June 2015 to September 2018, and at PPL Corporation from June 2009 to June 2015, he carried out key responsibilities in managing nuclear operations. Earlier in his career, he also held various leadership roles focused on nuclear generation at Exelon Nuclear Corporation and FirstEnergy Corporation.

Martin J. Lyons, the chairman, president, and CEO of Ameren, expressed his enthusiasm about Rausch's appointment, stating, "Tim is a recognized leader in nuclear generation and will bring tremendous value to Ameren's board of directors based on his extensive experience leading high-performing nuclear generation operations at some of the largest electric utilities in the country." This perspective reflects Ameren's commitment to the diversification of energy resources to ensure a reliable supply for their customers.

Rausch's expertise comes at a pivotal time when nuclear power is becoming increasingly vital in the energy sector. Ameren recognizes that nuclear generation will play a crucial role in its strategy moving forward, as it aims to deliver reliable, resilient, and affordable energy solutions for millions of users.

In terms of education, Rausch holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Cleveland State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Cincinnati. His academic background complements his extensive professional experience, making him uniquely qualified to contribute to Ameren's ongoing mission.

Ameren Corporation, headquartered in St. Louis, operates utilities that serve approximately 2.5 million electric customers and over 900,000 natural gas customers across a broad area of 64,000 square miles. The company is known for its regional subsidiaries Ameren Missouri and Ameren Illinois, which provide electric and natural gas services. Ameren Missouri additionally manages electric generation and transmission operations.

With Rausch's appointment, Ameren is taking a significant step towards bolstering its leadership in the nuclear energy field. As the energy landscape continues to evolve, the inclusion of such expertise on their board may prove essential in navigating the challenges of providing sustainable energy for the future.
