CurTec USA to Invest $10 Million in Production Expansion in South Carolina

CurTec USA Expands Production and Storage Capacity

CurTec USA has announced a major investment plan amounting to $10 million aimed at enhancing its production and storage facilities in Westminster, South Carolina. This expansion not only signifies the company's commitment to meeting the growing demands of the North American market but also highlights its confidence in the local workforce and economic environment. The project is expected to create 10 new jobs, boosting the local economy and providing more opportunities for residents.

CurTec, known for its high-performance packaging solutions for critical materials in life sciences and fine chemistry, sees this enlargement as a pivotal step towards reinforcing its market presence. CEO Bart van Berkel stated, "When we opened our Westminster facility in 2023, our goal was to be closer to our North American customers and establish a base for growth. This expansion strengthens our local production capabilities, ensuring inventory reliability, and widening our range of products manufactured in the USA."

The expansion will incorporate approximately 2,536 square meters (about 27,000 square feet) of added space along with over 2,000 pallet storage zones. Operations are expected to commence in October 2026, with a completion target set for the second quarter of 2027.

Increased Flexibility and Local Production

Part of this investment involves the establishment of a new extrusion-blow molding line, which will significantly enhance production capacity and allow for the manufacturing of smaller packaging sizes. In anticipation of this, CurTec plans to produce 6-liter and 10-liter Click Pack containers before the end of 2026, with plans to follow up by manufacturing smaller wide-mouth containers in 2027.

Roy Kuipers, Chief Operations Officer, remarked, "Simultaneously expanding both production and storage gives us greater flexibility to respond to demand. It also allows us to make a larger portion of our product line locally."

Martin Lamar, the plant manager, further noted, "Westminster was designed with future growth in mind. We are increasing our capabilities and expanding our local team to support this development."

Jamie Gilbert, President and CEO of Oconee Economic Alliance, expressed excitement about this investment. He stated, "It’s another great day for business in Oconee County. Just three years after we inaugurated the facility, this investment shows CurTec’s confidence in our workforce and our business environment. We value this partnership and look forward to continued growth together."
