Kia America Sets New Monthly Sales Record with 83,007 Units in August 2025

Kia America Achieves Historic Sales Figures

In a remarkable achievement, Kia America reported a total of 83,007 sales in August 2025, setting a new all-time high for monthly sales in the company's history. This outstanding performance reflects a 10.4% increase compared to the same month last year, marking the second time Kia has surpassed 80,000 units sold in a single month. Year-to-date totals also highlight impressive growth, with an 8.6% rise in total sales for 2025. Retail sales have seen a robust 10.3% increase, showcasing Kia's strengthening presence in the automotive market.

The surge in sales was particularly driven by standout models such as the Kia EV9 and Sportage, both experiencing their highest monthly sales ever. In August, the EV9 achieved sales of 2,679 units, which is a staggering 54% increase from the previous month. The EV6 and Niro EV also saw impressive monthly gains, rising by 39% and 57%, respectively, thus continuing a four-month streak of strong electric vehicle sales for Kia.

Other notable performers included models like the Carnival (+29%), Telluride (+19%), Sportage (+19%), K5 (+13%), and EV9 (+12%), all of which reported significant year-over-year increases. This performance has propelled Kia's SUV sales to new monthly highs, solidifying the brand’s reputation for innovation and quality.

Eric Watson, Vice President of Sales Operations at Kia America, stated, “Kia achieved another sales milestone by surpassing 83,000 sales in a single month, reflecting our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Our diverse lineup of sedans, SUVs, and electrified models is driving double-digit growth, underlining the strength of the Kia brand.”

Alongside this impressive sales performance, Kia America made several additional announcements. The 2025 Kia EV9 received top honors in the J.D. Power U.S. Tech Experience Index (TXI), alongside recognition for its One-Pedal Driving feature as a mass market winner in the advanced electric vehicle technology category. This accolade further emphasizes Kia's dedication to technological innovation and excellence in the EV sector.

Earlier this month, Kia hosted over 30 automotive and lifestyle journalists in Louisville, Kentucky to test drive the updated 2026 Kia Sportage, which saw significant enhancements in design, innovation, and comfort. The drive concentrated on the efficient and powerful Turbo Hybrid model.

Moreover, the 2025 Carnival MPV and 2025 Telluride SUV were both honored with the 2025 Winter Vehicle Awards from the New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA). This marks the fourth consecutive victory for the Telluride with three category wins for mid-size SUVs and a general win as Winter SUV of the Year in 2020, while it's the first win for the Carnival in the minivan category.

In conclusion, as the automotive landscape shifts towards more sustainable options, Kia America is not just keeping pace but is leading the charge with its innovative lineup. The promising figures from August indicate that the company's strategic focus on electric vehicles, alongside traditional models, is resonating well with consumers and establishing Kia firmly in the competitive automotive market.
