Reworld® Commemorates World Cleanup Day with Nationwide Community Engagement and Environmental Initiatives

Reworld® Commemorates World Cleanup Day

In September, Reworld®, a frontrunner in sustainable waste management solutions, took to the streets for World Cleanup Day, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement. Employees participated in numerous cleanup events across the United States, collaborating with local organizations, municipalities, and volunteers to make a tangible difference in their neighborhoods.

Alyssa Wilds, Senior Director of Corporate Community Relations at Reworld, stated, "Environmental stewardship extends beyond our facilities and into the communities we serve. World Cleanup Day is an opportunity for our employees to work alongside local partners to improve public spaces, support cleaner communities, and make a meaningful impact where we live and work."

Highlights from World Cleanup Day Events

Across various locations, Reworld employees teamed up with community groups to remove litter and invasive species, thereby enhancing the local environment. Key activities included:

1. Maryland and Virginia Cohorts: Employees in Derwood and Dickerson, Maryland, alongside local volunteers and the Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail, worked tirelessly at Gravelly Point to clear trash and non-native plants, significantly improving the area's aesthetic and safety.

2. Rahway, New Jersey: Volunteers gathered at Rahway Riverfront Park, where they actively cleaned up and beautified this vital public space, encouraging outdoor enjoyment for residents and visitors alike.

3. Newark, New Jersey: A dedicated team focused on litter removal along the access road to their facility. Their impressive efforts yielded 84 bags of garbage, earning them the Gold Broom Award during Newark's citywide "Slam Dunk the Junk" cleanup initiative.

4. Lee County, Florida: Employees collaborated with Keep Lee County Beautiful, organizing cleanup drives at notorious litter hotspots, further enhancing the community’s natural beauty.

5. Long Island, New York: Reworld teams from Ronkonkoma and West Babylon worked with Save the Great South Bay to execute several cleanup events, while Westbury and East Northport employees participated in local cleanup initiatives.

6. Chester, Pennsylvania: The Chester team undertook cleaning efforts on their adopted stretch of Highland Avenue, demonstrating their commitment to improving the local public space for the benefit of the community.

Through these comprehensive cleanup events, Reworld affirmed their role as a proactive neighbor in fostering cleaner, more vibrant communities. These collective efforts highlighted the importance of environmental responsibility among corporate entities.
