Revology Cars Introduces the 1970 Mustang Boss 302
Revology Cars, renowned for its exceptional re-engineering of classic Mustangs, has recently unveiled its latest masterpiece: the 1970 Mustang Boss 302. This exciting new model expands Revology’s impressive lineup, following the introduction of the 1969 Boss 429 last fall. The 1970 Boss 302 pays homage to one of the most celebrated road racing specials, incorporating advanced modern engineering while retaining the vehicle's original racing spirit.
The historical Boss 302 was initially launched only in 1969 and 1970 to compete in Ford’s SCCA Trans-Am series. This model was designed with a high-revving engine, a competition-tuned suspension, and features to optimize aerodynamics and cooling. As Tom Scarpello, founder and CEO of Revology Cars, stated, “The Boss 302 was a race car for the street. Our objective was to maintain its high-revving, performance-oriented character while ensuring it provides the refinement, reliability, and usability synonymous with modern performance cars.”
One of the standout features of the 1970 Boss 302 is its remarkable styling, especially its iconic hood shaker, which houses an air cleaner that visibly shifts with the engine's torque—an effect that Revology has carefully recreated despite the modern engine's different intake layout.
Under the hood, the Revology Boss 302 is powered by a formidable 5.0L Ford 'Coyote' V8 engine, which generates an impressive 460 horsepower. Like its predecessor, this engine is naturally aspirated and high-revving but benefits from contemporary engineering—featuring an aluminum block and heads, four cams, 32 valves, and advanced fuel injection. Importantly, this results in an authentic V8 sound accompanied by significantly heightened performance, drivability, reliability, and efficiency.
Originally, the Boss 302 was equipped solely with a four-speed manual transmission and minimal comfort features. However, Revology has modernized this aspect by offering buyers a choice between a six-speed manual or a ten-speed automatic transmission. Additional comforts such as air conditioning, hydraulic power rack-and-pinion steering, and four-wheel disc brakes come standard.
The framework of the Revology Boss 302 is built on an entirely new steel body that enhances rigidity and road presence. The vehicle’s chassis features a double-wishbone front suspension and a three-link rear suspension with torque arm and Panhard rod, ensuring improved handling and performance.
In terms of design, Revology has meticulously preserved the most distinctive traits of the Boss 302, recreating elements like its unique paint scheme, decklid spoiler, and louvered rear window glass to maintain the classic aesthetic that enthusiasts adore.
Stepping into the cabin reveals a stunning blend of classic Mustang design and modern amenities. The interior features ergonomic improvements, high-quality materials, and superior craftsmanship, crafting an environment that is perfect for spirited drives and everyday use.
The launch of the 1970 Mustang Boss 302 reinforces Revology Cars’ status as a leading force in the re-engineered classic Mustang market, providing an expanded array of historically significant models that marry vintage charm with cutting-edge technology.
