The United Arab Emirates has taken a significant step in bolstering its role in global polar science by officially joining the Svalbard Treaty, as outlined in Federal Decree No. 125 of 2025. Her Excellency Mariam Almheiri, who oversees the Emirates Polar Program, conveyed the significance of this milestone.
