Paralyzed Veterans of America Partners with Accenture to Empower Veterans in the AI Job Market

Collaborating for a Better Future for Veterans

Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) has recently announced a strategic partnership with Accenture, aimed at empowering veterans, their caregivers, and families to navigate the challenges of an AI-driven labor market. This initiative is designed to help veterans build in-demand job skills and find their footing in a rapidly changing workforce.

The partnership enhances PVA's Veterans Career Program, which offers free career planning and vocational counseling to veterans, transitioning military personnel, spouses, and caregivers. By incorporating advanced data, insights, and personalized guidance on the latest technology trends, PVA is positioned to provide robust support to veterans seeking employment.

Accenture, known for its expertise in artificial intelligence and workforce transformation, has played a crucial role in developing tailored learning pathways that align with today’s workforce demands. A comprehensive database has been created, featuring courses, certifications, and resources that are meticulously curated to help veterans leverage their existing strengths and acquire new skills. This approach stems from a human-centered methodology, including interviews with veterans and families, to ensure relevance and efficacy.

Genia Hachenberg, Director of PVA's Veterans Career Program, expressed pride in the partnership, stating, "By providing access to groundbreaking labor market research and personalized skill development opportunities, we are empowering our veterans for future job prospects while equipping our counselors with vital resources." With approximately 250 veterans supported yearly through this program, each individual receives dedicated assistance from vocational counselors who guide them through resume preparation, interview techniques, job searches, and continuous follow-up to ensure sustainable career development.

Chris McManus, Senior Managing Director at Accenture, emphasized the necessity of adaptation in an AI-centric workforce. "Our collaboration with PVA emphasizes our commitment to aid individuals in successfully navigating these transitions while amplifying their unique skills in the workforce," he remarked.

This partnership signifies a significant leap forward in helping veterans overcome obstacles posed by the evolving labor market and ensures they are equipped to thrive in their professional journeys. The Veterans Career Program addresses the complexities of today’s job landscape, especially for those who have served the nation, underscoring the importance of lifelong learning and adaptability in a world where technology is ever-advancing.
