Haseko Group's 10th Forest Conservation Activity
On June 13, 2026, the Haseko Group, spearheaded by Haseko Corporation, held the 10th forest conservation activity at "Haseko no Mori" located in Chino, Nagano Prefecture. This initiative is part of a broader effort marked by the company's commitment to community engagement and environmental preservation.
Background of Haseko's Forest Project
Started in April 2017 as a part of the company's 80th anniversary, the "Haseko no Mori" project aims at fostering a sustainable future through biodiversity conservation. The project is established under a stewardship agreement with the Chino City government, promoting collaboration among employees, their families, and local community members. This partnership has enabled the management of 13 hectares of forest area, encouraging active participation in biodiversity preservation activities.
The project embodies the themes of social contribution, future orientation, and regional collaboration, aligning with the Haseko Group's biodiversity action guidelines. The group aims to enhance the environmental awareness of its members while contributing positively to society.
Highlights from the 10th Activity
During this year's activity, 82 participants, including employees and their families, engaged in various tasks. The morning began with a nature walk through the forest, which served as an educational opportunity to underscore the importance of environmental protection and the need to be mindful of biodiversity. Participants learned about the local ecosystem and the roles they could play in its conservation.
In the afternoon, the group shifted their focus to hands-on forest maintenance activities. Participants helped with the thinning of underbrush and the removal of fallen trees, contributing to the overall health of the forest ecosystem. This collective effort not only supports biodiversity but also strengthens the relationship between the Haseko Group and the local community.
Commitment to Biodiversity
The Haseko Group continues to champion various biodiversity initiatives, demonstrating its long-term commitment to environmental stewardship. Their involvement in the forest project aligns with their mission to create a more sustainable and pleasant living environment.
Moreover, since May 2018, the Haseko Group has expanded its environmental conservation efforts to include similar activities in Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture, showcasing a broader engagement strategy that spans multiple regions.
Looking Ahead
With an ongoing dedication to enhancing ecological consciousness among its workforce, the Haseko Group is poised to lead future biodiversity initiatives. As the organization evolves, it will remain committed to fostering partnerships that promote the sustainable management of forest resources.
