JAMBALOO Festival Expands to New Heights in 2026 With More Venues and Features

JAMBALOO Festival Returns for an Exhilarating 2026

In an exciting development for music lovers, JAMBALOO has redefined the festival experience, announcing its return for the second edition from February 7 to February 15, 2026. This year promises to be bigger and better with an expanded presence in the vibrant regions of Dallas and Fort Worth, including the activation of 14 unique venues featuring nearly 30 complimentary shows. This initiative aims to engage the community further while celebrating the local music scene.

An Expanded Vision

The festival's core mission remains to provide free and accessible live music, hand in hand with its role as a cultural facilitator. The 2026 event continues to focus on the local music ecosystem, creative infrastructure, arts education, and crucially, mental health support. This year's expansion reflects a commitment to enhancing civic engagement and empowering musicians and artists across North Texas.

Joe Morrison, co-founder of JAMBALOO and an attorney at Mullen and Mullen, emphasized the festival's evolution, saying, _“Last year's debut showed us two things: how eager the community is for a festival like JAMBALOO, and how much support is needed behind the scenes. Our 2026 festival is a direct response to both.”_

New Events Unveiled

JAMBALOO Symposium

Kicking off the festival will be the JAMBALOO Symposium on Saturday, February 7 at Tulips in Fort Worth. This thought-provoking event is designed to foster discussions about contemporary music trends, the hurdles independent venues face, and actionable strategies for strengthening the DFW music ecosystem. An enticing highlight will be the appearance of Cole Cuchna, the host of the popular Dissect podcast, who will delve into Radiohead's music and themes, culminating the day with live performances from Paranoid Androids, a tribute band from Austin.

JAMBALOO After Hours

For those seeking nocturnal engagements, the festival introduces JAMBALOO After Hours, featuring late-night events focused on vinyl and DJ performances. Attendees can look forward to three exciting nights at LadyLove Lounge and a special appearance on Valentine's Night by Kenny Dope at Deep Ellum Art Co.

Supporting Mental Health

Notably, the festival has committed to mental health advocacy through an expanded partnership with Amplified Minds, a local nonprofit recognized for its support to over 4,000 individuals in the creative field over the last decade. Amplified Minds will contribute to the festival via dedicated panels and year-round workshops designed to elevate the well-being of artists, gig workers, and the local music community.

Student Showcase

Another highlight will be the BOOKER T. LIVE x JAMBALOO event on Sunday, February 15 at the Granada Theater, showcasing the talent of current students and alumni from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. This collaboration not only highlights emerging artists but also pays tribute to the institute's rich legacy, which has nurtured stars like Norah Jones and Erykah Badu.

How to Participate

Registration for attendees opens on January 14, 2026, at noon CST on the official JAMBALOO website. A comprehensive schedule and updates regarding performers and additional activities will also be unveiled at that time.

The Legacy of JAMBALOO

Established in 2025, JAMBALOO not only serves as a festival but has transformed into a year-round entity committed to bolstering the North Texas music community. Initiatives like the $20,000 Venue Prize for independent stages and the $20,000 JAMBALOO Music Prize—one of the nation’s top local album awards—reflect the festival's ongoing commitment to supporting local talent. As efforts continue to progress, further community programs will be announced throughout the year.

The 2026 edition of JAMBALOO promises a more vibrant, inclusive, and engaging atmosphere for all music enthusiasts, solidifying its role as a cornerstone event in the local cultural calendar.
