Supporting Cancer Research: Valvoline Instant Oil Change's Commitment to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Valvoline's Ongoing Support for Cancer Research
Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC) is once again showing its commitment to cancer research and patient care by participating in the “A Chance for Kids & Families®” program, which benefits Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. In New England, a total of 64 VIOC locations are inviting customers to make donations between July 13 and August 2, aiming to raise funds that will be utilized for critical cancer research and patient support. Customers can contribute in increments of $1, $5, or $10 during their service visits.
Don Smith, CEO of Henley Enterprises, Inc., the largest franchisee of Valvoline Instant Oil Change, expressed pride in participating in this initiative for the twelfth year. He highlighted the Jimmy Fund as a vital community resource which plays a significant role in the support of cancer patients and research at Dana-Farber. “We are excited to participate in this program once again this year. The Jimmy Fund has long been a pillar in our community, and the work they do to support cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is remarkable,” he stated.
The collaborative efforts between VIOC and Dana-Farber extend beyond mere fundraising; they represent a broader commitment to fighting cancer. Kevin Jeans, Assistant Vice President for Corporate Partnerships at Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund, echoed the sentiment by sharing the profound impact that these donations create in combating cancer. “It is incredibly special to see the difference that these donations can make in supporting the fight against cancer.”
To date, Henley Enterprises has successfully raised over $380,000 through the “A Chance for Kids & Families” program, which directly assists in funding important research and patient care initiatives at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This fundraising initiative has proven instrumental in aiding the institute's mission to enhance patient treatment methods and contribute to groundbreaking cancer research that aims to save lives.
Valvoline Inc. itself runs over 2,000 franchised service centers across the U.S. and Canada, providing services that range from quick oil changes to a variety of maintenance tasks like tire rotations and wiper replacements. Each year, the company completes more than 28 million services, and this level of engagement allows them to engage with their customer base in meaningful ways beyond automobile care.
