Introducing the Boden Series from Crash Gate
On September 19, 2025, Crash Gate, a division of Sekikagu Co., Ltd., will release its latest interior design collection called the Boden series. This collection, part of the Crash Project initiative founded by Sekikagu’s design team, features exquisite television boards and tables made from natural wood, designed to harmonize with modern lifestyles.
A Contemporary Approach to Living Spaces
The Boden series includes two sizes of TV boards (1800mm and 2100mm), a coffee table (1400mm), and two sizes of low tables (500mm and 750mm), totaling five unique products, with prices ranging from ¥12,650 to ¥99,000 (tax included). These pieces have been thoughtfully crafted in response to the shift in consumer habits due to the rise of wall-mounted TVs and subscription video services, leading to a decreased need for traditional AV equipment storage.
The conceptual framework behind the Boden series design emphasizes the aesthetic value of the TV board as a decorative element rather than a mere storage unit. The standout feature of each piece is the beautiful oak wood top, meticulously fashioned from thick 35mm planks and finished with a live edge, allowing the organic warmth, presence, and elegance of wood to shine through. Accompanying this luxurious finish, a sleek black steel frame maintains a sense of lightness and elegance around the TV area.
Aesthetics and Functionality
When combined with wall-mounted TVs, the Boden series creates a sophisticated and refined visual that pairs seamlessly with conventional stand-alone TVs. By selecting a board larger than the TV, users can evoke a sense of space and openness in their living area. Moreover, the live edge surface is versatile enough to serve as a stunning display area for personal treasures, objects, and seasonal flowers, transforming the living room into a testament of personal style and lifestyle.
Unique Identity of Natural Wood
The unique characteristics of natural wood are highlighted through the live edge design, utilizing wood sourced from the outer layers of the oak. Finished with oil, the material preserves its natural texture, emphasizing qualities such as shape, touch, and grain patterns that showcase the true allure of timber. Each piece is distinctive, featuring variations in knots and bark textures, making every item in the Boden series a one-of-a-kind statement piece. This uniqueness is the core charm of using natural wood, allowing consumers to enjoy individualistic profiles in their interiors.
