The Allure of Oriental Cashmere: Highlights from the Milano 2026 Event

On September 22, 2026, Milan's prestigious Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci hosted the Yulin Cashmere 2026 promotional event, aptly named “Oriental Cashmere Radiance Milan Moment.” This significant gathering brought together over 100 attendees from China and Italy, including institutional representatives, industry leaders, and journalists, all eager to explore the expanding world of cashmere.

The event was structured around two key components: business meetings between companies and a presentation of cashmere brands. This initiative spotlighted the growth of Yulin's cashmere industry and its brands, transitioning from merely exporting raw materials to establishing a strong presence in international markets. During the business meetings, influential figures from Italian fashion brands and procurement departments engaged with executives from Yulin's cashmere companies, unveiling numerous potential collaboration opportunities.

Among the notable attendees were Francesco Vassallo, the Vice Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Milan; Zhang Chenggang, the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Milan; and Mario Boselli, President of the Italy-China Foundation and Honorary President of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion. Their speeches underscored a mutual commitment to further enhancing collaboration in the fashion sector between China and Italy.

Yulin, China, is recognized as a global hub for high-quality, eco-friendly cashmere and stands as the largest center for research, development, and production of winter wool garments in the country. The city has cultivated a complete cashmere supply chain, encompassing every phase of processing. Looking ahead, Yulin is poised to strengthen international industrial cooperation and bring the warmth and allure of its cashmere to markets worldwide.

Four representative cashmere companies from Yulin—Yingguo Industry, Shaanxi Tuocheng Cashmere Industry Technology, Yulin Yanglaoda, and HBEH—took the stage to showcase their brands and high-end cashmere clothing collections, demonstrating production capabilities that cover the entire supply chain. Additionally, these companies signed collaboration agreements with two Italian procurement firms, Casile Casile and IWC, marking the inception of direct partnerships between Yulin's cashmere brands and high-end European retail distribution networks.

The event concluded with a joint presentation by the four Yulin companies, displaying a series of exquisite cashmere garments. The Chinese-Italian singer Nie Hongmei performed both classic Italian pieces and folk songs from Shaanxi, accompanied by a traditional yangko dance from the region. This captivating performance beautifully fused Italian and Chinese cultural traditions, earning widespread acclaim from guests, industry professionals, and media representatives.
