Tokyu Bus Raises Starting Salaries and Focuses on Recruitment Strategies
Tokyu Bus Co., Ltd., headquartered in Meguro, Tokyo, under the leadership of President Taku Furukawa, has announced a significant increase in starting salaries across all positions, including drivers, office workers, and maintenance staff, effective July 1 this year. This move represents a commitment to enhancing employee compensation and reflects the company's growth attributed to last year's fare increase.

With the recent recruitment campaign that began in August of last year, around 132 out of the targeted 150 new drivers are expected to join the company. Specifically, drivers are projected to see an annual income increase of approximately 200,000 yen, with an overall increase of about 1,000,000 yen when accounting for last year's adjustments.

- - Bus Maintenance Experience Day: Scheduled for August 3 at the Aobadai Factory, this event will provide hands-on experience for potential maintenance workers. No qualifications are necessary, and the program is welcoming to women as well.
Participants will learn about the maintenance certification system, the structure of buses, and even have the opportunity to inspect buses while wearing company uniforms.
- - Bus Driver Experience Event: Set for September 21 at the Nijigaoka Sales Office, this event is open to anyone with a regular driver's license (automatic transmission permitted). Participants will gain hands-on experience driving a bus, including maneuvering left turns and stopping at bus stops.
