Okayama University Hosts Fund Committee Meeting
On July 4, 2025, Okayama University (located in Okayama City, North District), led by President Yoshitomo Nasu, held a significant meeting of its Scholarship Fund Committee. This gathering was attended by various stakeholders including local business representatives, alumni, and the committee's permanent directors, all coming together to discuss the management and initiatives related to the Scholarship Fund.
During this meeting, attendees reviewed the activities report for the fiscal year 2024 and presented the expenditure plan for the fiscal year 2025. A lively discussion followed on strategies to increase fund acquisition, highlighting the importance of community support in sustaining educational programs.
Appreciation Gathering
Following the committee meeting, an 'Appreciation Gathering' was organized at J Terrace Café to honor the generous donors who have supported the Scholarship Fund. President Nasu expressed heartfelt gratitude by presenting awards to these donors.
Moreover, student representatives who benefited from the fund also shared their experiences. The yacht club, which received assistance for purchasing an outboard motor, and the Jazz club, which secured funding for an alto saxophone, each conveyed how the donations positively impacted their activities. Students enrolled in the Global Human Resource Development Special Program and members of the literature department also took the stage to acknowledge the financial support that allowed them to study abroad. They clearly illustrated the various ways in which the contributions are utilized to enhance their educational journeys.
The gathering fostered a warm and friendly atmosphere, allowing students and donors to engage in direct dialogue. It served not only as a moment of thankfulness but also an opportunity to strengthen the bonds between the supporters and the university community.
