Introducing the Urban B200: Dott and Segway's New E-Bike for Paris

Taking Urban Mobility to New Heights

In a remarkable collaboration aimed at transforming urban transport, Segway and Dott have jointly announced the introduction of the Urban B200 E-Bike in Paris. With a roll-out date set for October 1, the bike represents a significant advance in Dott's commitment to enhancing shared mobility solutions within the City of Lights. This collaboration capitalizes on Dott’s extensive experience in shared micro-mobility and Segway’s cutting-edge technological prowess.

A Greener City for a Sustainable Future

With Paris solidifying its reputation as a leader in sustainable urban mobility, the Urban B200 E-Bike is poised to play a pivotal role in reshaping commuting habits. Dott plans a robust investment of 10 million euros to bolster their operations in the city between 2025 and 2029. As the leading market for Dott with over 5.3 million rides recorded in 2025 alone, this strategic move is expected to facilitate a smoother transition to environmentally friendly transportation modes.

Henri Moissinac, CEO and co-founder of Dott, expressed his excitement about this initiative, stating, "Paris is at the forefront of sustainable urban mobility, and we are proud to contribute to this transformation. The new Urban B200 embodies our years of operational experience and driver feedback, enhanced by technical collaboration with Segway. We have created a vehicle that genuinely supports cycling as a daily habit."

Engineering for the Everyday Rider

The Urban B200 was meticulously designed through a synergistic effort between Dott and Segway, integrating localized insights from Parisian users and global engineering expertise. The e-bike underwent extensive testing during a pilot phase that began in May 2025, enabling the team to collect real-time data for optimizing features from vehicle hardware to onboard software.

The result is a bike engineered for densely populated urban settings while remaining adaptable for a diverse range of riders. It boasts a highly visible dashboard providing real-time updates about battery life and vehicle status, ensuring riders stay informed. Furthermore, it is equipped with a torque sensor in the pedal system that enables smoother acceleration based on the rider's power input. A robust metal basket allows for practical storage without compromising maneuverability, while protective fenders and a covered chain system safeguard both rider and bike from wet conditions—essentials for year-round commuting. A flexible phone holder also ensures easy, hands-free access to navigation or calls, enhancing rider safety and comfort.

Enhanced Performance and Reliability

On an operational level, the Urban B200 represents a major leap in efficiency. Its 918-Wh battery offers an impressive range of up to 120 kilometers on a single charge, significantly reducing the frequency of battery swaps and ensuring higher availability during peak times. An energy-efficient standby mode consumes just 0.9 watts, allowing the bike to retain its charge for up to 42 days when not in use, which minimizes charging efforts and lowers operational costs.

Zack Yan, Vice General Manager of Segway’s Commercial Mobility Business Division, commented, "The Urban B200 being launched in Paris is a product of intense technical collaboration between Segway and Dott. We’ve developed a vehicle that offers sustainability, durability, and rider confidence while meeting the complex logistical demands of large fleet operators."

Future-Proofing Urban Transport

The introduction of the Urban B200 marks not just a technological advancement, but a shared commitment between Segway and Dott to define the future of micro-mobility across Europe and beyond. Dott remains committed to maintaining a local presence in Paris with a dedicated team supported by its established infrastructure for bike reweighting and maintenance. Older models will be redeployed in other cities as part of Dott and Segway’s sustainability mandates, ensuring a full vehicle lifecycle in accordance with eco-friendly principles.
