Subaru Achieves Milestone in Charitable Giving Through 19th Annual Share the Love Event

Subaru's Commitment to Philanthropy

Subaru of America, Inc. has announced the return of its much-anticipated charitable initiative, the Subaru Share the Love® Event for the 19th consecutive year. From November 19, 2026, through January 4, 2027, customers will be able to contribute to charitable organizations by purchasing or leasing a new Subaru vehicle. The ambitious goal for this year is to achieve over $360 million in total donations through this campaign, illustrating Subaru’s commitment to fostering community bonds.

A Legacy of Giving

Since its inception, the Share the Love Event has played a pivotal role in Subaru's philanthropic efforts. Over the past eighteen years, Subaru and its retailers have developed strong partnerships with several national charities including the ASPCA®, Make-A-Wish®, Meals on Wheels America, and the National Park Foundation. This year alone, Subaru is set to add nearly 830 local charities, personally selected by Subaru retailers, to receive additional funds, ensuring that community-specific needs are met.

Jeff Walters, President and Chief Operating Officer of Subaru, expresses the company's passion for connecting customers with local charities during the Share the Love Event. “Through this initiative, we are proud to support the organizations that help our communities thrive,” he remarked, highlighting the impact this campaign has had over the years.

How It Works

For each new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased, Subaru will donate $250 to a customer-designated charity, which may include any of the participating national organizations or a local hometown charity. Additionally, participating retailers will contribute at least $50 for every vehicle sold or leased to support local causes. During the promotional period, many retailers will also donate $5 to registered hometown charities for every routine service visit made by qualifying Subaru vehicles.

Partnering for Change

The ASPCA®

Subaru holds the title as the largest corporate donor to the ASPCA, an organization dedicated to eliminating animal cruelty. With this partnership, Subaru has facilitated the rescue and welfare of over 152,000 animals, transforming lives and promoting a culture of care towards animals across the country.

Make-A-Wish®

As the largest automotive donor to Make-A-Wish®, Subaru plays a crucial role in helping fulfill the wishes of children battling critical illnesses. The power of granting wishes often promotes healing, providing emotional support to families who face the trials of illness. So far, Subaru has helped grant over 4,100 life-changing wishes, fostering hope and joy in the lives of many.

Meals on Wheels America

Focusing on combating hunger and social isolation among seniors, Subaru has also made significant donations to Meals on Wheels America. This partnership has resulted in the delivery of over 5.2 million meals to homebound seniors, ensuring they receive the nourishment and companionship they need.

National Park Foundation

Lastly, Subaru stands as the leading corporate donor to the National Park Foundation, contributing to the conservation of America’s natural heritage. This partnership enhances the preservation and promotion of national parks, supporting their accessibility and protection for future generations.

Conclusion

Through the Share the Love Event, Subaru encapsulates its core values—empathy, community support, and social responsibility—while reaffirming its commitment to being more than just a car company. Subaru's philanthropic efforts continue to grow, not only enriching communities financially but also fostering a culture of giving back amid ongoing social needs.
