As part of the ongoing renovations at Kansai International Airport, the facility aims to enhance international flight capacity and passenger experiences. The renovation phase four is expected to be completed by June 2026, with 'Tsumugi' among 24 diverse retail and dining establishments that will debut. This comes after the major overhaul that began in 1994, featuring improvements like consolidated security checks and a large international lounge, aimed at elevating the passenger experience.
'Tsumugi', inspired by the former 'Waka Cafe Tsumugi', will primarily focus on kamameshi (Japanese rice cooked in a pot) and matcha tea, allowing both international visitors and departing Japanese passengers to enjoy a premium dining experience at the last moment before their flights.

Designed to embody a warm and inviting ambiance utilizing traditional Japanese motifs and colors, 'Tsumugi' will be dedicated to elevating the dining experience with its signature kamameshi and matcha offerings. At 'Tsumugi', the kamameshi will be prepared using domestic rice, combined with carefully selected premium ingredients that complement Pronto's original tai (sea bream) dashi.
