Japan Bowl Students' Cultural Exchange in Japan

In a thrilling cultural exchange initiative, ten high school students from across the United States—each distinguished as top contestants at the Japan Bowl—will visit Japan with their chaperone. The journey, which is in line with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' "Kakehashi Project," aims to reinforce mutual understanding and strengthen friendships between Japan and the U.S.

Exploring Japan

Scheduled from July 22 to July 28, 2026, the students will embark on a week-long trip that includes visits to Tokyo and Ishikawa Prefecture. They will engage in various hands-on activities that promise to educate and inspire. Through dialogues and exchanges with students from Komatsu High School in Ishikawa, they will discover the nuances of Japanese culture and society from the perspective of their peers.

During their stay, the students will partake in localized cultural activities such as home stays and sightseeing tour of well-known attractions in Ishikawa. This immersive experience allows them to develop a deeper appreciation for daily life in Japan and to foster connections with local residents.

In the bustling city of Tokyo, the itinerary includes an official visit to the U.S. Embassy where they will grasp the history and current dynamics of U.S.-Japan relations. Additionally, they will conduct tours and participate in discussions with members of the Japan Bowl Supporters Group, further enriching their understanding of Japanese culture and society.
