Celebrating Those Who Pioneered Ideal Lives Through Regional Relocation in Japan

The 3rd Nippon Relocation Award: A Celebration of New Beginnings

The Nippon Relocation Award, organized by the Fujisankei Group including Sankei Shimbun, Nippon Broadcasting, BS Fuji, and Pony Canyon, announces its third edition. This event is not just an awards ceremony; it's a tribute to individuals who have made significant life changes by relocating to rural areas in Japan.

As Japan continues to grapple with declining population and an aging society, communities face pressing challenges in maintaining a sustainable future. In this context, the movement of 'immigrants' into these regions brings fresh perspectives and energy. The Nippon Relocation Award aims to recognize the successful transitions of these individuals, spotlighting their challenges and contributions to the localities they now call home.

The Essence of the Nippon Relocation Award

The Nippon Relocation Award evaluates individuals who have transformed their lifestyles through relocation. A selection committee composed of experts in regional revitalization and relocation will conduct the evaluations. They will assess candidates based on diverse perspectives such as personal fulfillment, family happiness, community contribution, revitalization of local areas, business creation, cultural heritage preservation, and youth development among others.

This award aims to celebrate innovations brought about by these individuals and encourage more people to consider rural living as a viable option for personal and communal growth.

Last year's event, the second edition of the Nippon Relocation Award, saw numerous inspiring presentations that showcased individual stories of transformation and commitment to community development.
