InfiMotion Revolutionizes E-Drive Technology at the 2026 Paris Motor Show
The renowned Paris Motor Show, held from October 12 to 18, 2026, at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Center, has become a significant platform for automotive innovation and electric mobility. This year, InfiMotion Technology, a leading player in China's powertrain sector, is making waves, although it doesn’t host an independent exhibition. Instead, its advanced electric drive systems can be found on numerous automaker displays, particularly in the Geely Auto lineup, alongside vehicles from Lynk & Co, Zeekr, and Smart.
Among the highlights is the European premiere of the Monjaro EM-i and other electric vehicles such as the EX2, EX5, and STARRAY EM-i. The presence of InfiMotion’s e-drive systems at Geely’s booth underscores their pivotal role in modern electric vehicle technology.
Technological Leadership Setting Global Benchmarks
InfiMotion has introduced its new off-road dual-motor e-drive system, the first of its kind in its class to include a locking dual-motor configuration. This innovative solution is showcased on the Geely K011 model, featuring two motors capable of each delivering an impressive 220 kW, resulting in a combined peak torque of up to 9,000 N•m at a single wheel. This torque amplification showcases its ability to assist in difficult terrains, freeing stuck vehicles with ease, thanks to the differential-lock controller.
The off-road system is not only optimized for performance but has also been rigorously tested, achieving an IPX8 rating through various hydraulic and temperature assessments. InfiMotion’s portfolio includes options spanning from 400V to 900V, exemplified by the TP501 coaxial dual motor drive, which utilizes semi-solid die-cast magnesium alloy housing, enabling a 30% weight reduction. Additionally, the P600 Compact Electric Drive Unit (EDU) offers outstanding energy efficiency exceeding 92.4% CLTC efficiency, emphasizing the clever use of Mini-Pin winding and ultra-thin silicon steel technology.
Another fascinating aspect of InfiMotion's technology is the deep oil-cooling system that allows for sustained performance over extended periods, enabling more than 100 consecutive full-throttle accelerations without any degradation in performance delivery. This innovative approach is already showcased in production models, including the Geely Galaxy E5, one of China’s most successful exporting A-segment electric SUVs.
Growing International Footprint
InfiMotion's rapid ascent in the electric vehicle sector is reflected in its recent achievements. In the first half of 2026, they emerged as one of the top three electric motor and inverter suppliers in China based on shipment volumes. With extensive R&D facilities located in Wuxi, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hangzhou, and even Gothenburg, Sweden, the company boasts a workforce of over 1,000 engineers, including more than 100 software specialists from Sweden, ensuring their innovation and software capabilities remain cutting-edge.
The company’s operations include five smart manufacturing bases in China, contributing to a global supply chain that extends to Europe and Malaysia. In addition, InfiMotion operates a CNAS-certified testing center that hosts the world’s first 30,000 rpm motor test bench, ensuring that their products are validated under extreme conditions like -60°C to 140°C thermal cycling and rigorous endurance tests.
