Support for Wajima City Welfare Facility through Air Conditioner Repairs

Support for Wajima City Welfare Facility through Air Conditioner Repairs

Japan Reuse System Corporation, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, has made a notable contribution to the rehabilitation efforts following the Noto Peninsula earthquakes. On August 2025, the company provided repair costs for air conditioning units at a welfare facility in Wajima City that suffered damage. This initiative was part of their "Old Clothes for Vaccines" program, which supports recovery efforts affected by the earthquake.

Project Overview

The product named "Old Clothes for Vaccines - Noto Peninsula Earthquake Recovery Support Package" allows customers to purchase an item, with a portion of the sales directed toward recovery activities in the affected areas via Best Action. This process delivers essential materials and support requests in real-time from the disaster zones, fulfilling the wishes of the customers for the revival of the affected communities.

The specialized collection kits were produced and shipped by the welfare facility "Emoru" in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Since April 2024, the package has continued providing assistance to individuals impacted by recent disasters, including earthquakes and floods. Damage Assessment of Wajima City Welfare Facility

More than a year and a half after the earthquake, the damage within Wajima City remains extensive. Roads are cracked, and buildings are still in ruins. The welfare facility "Ichigo Ichie" has faced severe challenges, with its roof tiles blown off, electricity outages, and leaking causing breakdowns of their air conditioning and elevators. Collaborating with the team at Emoru and employing the banner of "Thousand Cranes Revival Support Tool", they presented their support for the repairs.

The Meaning Behind the Support Tokens

The "Thousand Cranes Revival Support Tool" was designed to establish a cycle of support among welfare facilities. Rather than simply donating money, Japan Reuse System endeavors to craft supportive bonds through shared experiences. By compensating the welfare facility involved in the production, they advocate a more constructive way of making a difference.

For the first round, support was provided to welfare facility "Emoru" in Nanao City, allocating funds for repairs of essential infrastructures like restrooms affected by the earthquake. In this instance, the cranes crafted by Emoru were presented to "Ichigo Ichie" in Wajima City for air conditioning repairs.

The funds from this initiative enable the necessary upgrades for air conditioning to be completed before the peak summer months, ensuring that all users can enjoy a comfortable environment in their facility.

Japan Reuse System aims to continue this cycle of support, finding ways to help disaster-stricken individuals regain their day-to-day lives. They strive to explore diverse forms of assistance that reflect the thoughts and sentiments of their supporters, ensuring that all efforts are beneficial for everyone involved. This journey will begin with small contributions that leverage their unique strengths to establish a truly sustainable society.
