Baptist Health Care and PAM Health Forge Innovative Health Collaboration in Florida
In a strategic move aimed at enhancing healthcare services in the Northwest Florida and South Alabama regions, Baptist Health Care and PAM Health have announced a significant expansion of their partnership. This collaboration is driven by the rapidly increasing demand for healthcare services, which has necessitated the development of new facilities and an increase in bed capacity.
The updated agreement marks an evolution from initial plans revealed in early 2025, which aimed to construct a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit within the existing Henderson Health Center on the Baptist Hospital campus. The revised vision now includes the establishment of a new freestanding 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located at the Baptist Medical Park – Nine Mile campus. This hospital will boast specialized rehabilitation services aimed at better serving patients recovering from serious injuries or illnesses.
Anthony Misitano, the founder and CEO of PAM Health, emphasized the commitment to the Pensacola community, highlighting their response to the urgent need for additional acute care capacity. He expressed that the development of a standalone rehabilitation hospital allows for designing state-of-the-art facilities without the constraints of existing structures, featuring advanced therapy gyms and comprehensive clinical programs.
The hospital's capacity expansion will see Baptist Hospital's bed count increase from 279 to 319. The planned 40-bed acute care hospital unit will continue within the Henderson Health Center, supporting the growing local population's needs. Brett Aldridge, executive vice president of Baptist Health Care, reiterated the organization's dedication to addressing these critical healthcare demands. He noted this collaboration with PAM Health not only addresses immediate capacity concerns but also signifies a long-term investment in the community's rehabilitation needs, enhancing access to high-quality care.
As the community continues to grow, the establishment of these new facilities is expected to bolster health service offerings significantly. The new acute care beds at Baptist Hospital are projected to be operational in the coming months, while further details regarding the inpatient rehabilitation hospital will be disclosed shortly. The partnership underscores both organizations' commitment to elevating healthcare standards and maintaining focus on patient-centered services.
Baptist Health Care is a notable not-for-profit health organization serving Northwest Florida, focusing on quality and service across its facilities, including three hospitals and several medical parks. PAM Health, headquartered in Pennsylvania, is distinguished for providing post-acute healthcare services through a network of over 100 facilities across the United States. This collaboration exemplifies the successful integration of resources and care models to meet the dynamic needs of their communities effectively, setting a precedent for future healthcare partnerships.
