Mazda Reports February Sales Performance with Strong Results in 2026

Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) has recently released its sales data for February 2026, reporting a total of 33,497 vehicles sold. This figure remained consistent with the same month in 2025 while demonstrating an increase of 4% on a daily sales rate basis due to one less selling day this year. In total, there were 24 selling days in February 2026 compared to 25 in February 2025, indicating that the sales performance held strong despite the slight reduction in available time for sales during the month.

The report also highlighted the sales of Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles (CPO), which reached 5,954 units in February, representing a 6.4% increase from the previous year. This growth reflects Mazda's ongoing appeal in the second-hand market, where customers are looking for reliable quality in used vehicles.

Among the notable highlights of the month, Mazda recorded its second-best February sales total in history. The Mazda3 sedan achieved the highest retail sales for February since 2020, underscoring its strong position in the compact car market. Furthermore, both the CX-50 ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and its hybrid counterpart reached their all-time best February sales figures, indicating robust demand for these models in North America.

Looking at sales across regional markets, Mazda Canada, Inc. reported sales of 4,616 vehicles in February, marking a 1.3% increase compared to the same month last year. This positive trend indicates that Canadian consumers continue to favor Mazda vehicles amid a competitive market.

In contrast, Mazda Motor de Mexico experienced a downturn, selling 8,321 vehicles, which reflects an 11% decrease from February 2025. This decline raises concerns about potential market challenges that might need to be addressed in future strategies as the Mexican market evolves.

Mazda, with roots deeply embedded in Hiroshima, Japan, prides itself on its tradition of sophisticated craftsmanship and innovation. The company’s commitment to enhancing the 'life in motion' experience is evident through its focus on placing people at the core of its design and operational strategies. MNAO has its base in Irvine, California, overseeing sales operations and customer services across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Colombia, facilitated by about 795 dealerships.
