Shenzhen Unveils APEC China 2026 Theme Song

Shenzhen, China's rapidly evolving metropolis, has taken a significant step in its preparations for APEC China 2026 by unveiling the host-city theme song "Meet You Where Wonders Bloom" (在奇迹之城遇见你). This uplifting track aims to celebrate the spirit of the city while emphasizing a vision of collaboration throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Produced by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, the song captures the essence of Shenzhen's dynamic culture and its ambitious journey of growth.

The Making of the Theme Song

The song was composed and written by He Muyang, a notable figure who serves as the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Musicians Association. Collaborating with him are the popular singers Jane Zhang and Joseph Zeng, who lend their voices to this vibrant anthem. The track features a modern, youthful pop sound that resonates with the dreams and aspirations of many. The lyrics beautifully intertwine personal stories of dreamers with Shenzhen's remarkable development and a broader narrative of Asia-Pacific cooperation.

A Cinematic Visual Experience

Accompanying the song is a visually stunning music video that runs for 4 minutes and 45 seconds, showcasing the captivating landscapes of Shenzhen. What sets this video apart is its focus on human stories. It highlights the experiences of everyday residents, especially youth and foreigners, who share their vibrant interactions within the city. The video captures the energy and appeal of Shenzhen — often referred to as the “City of Miracles” — and portrays its friendly disposition towards welcoming people from around the world.

The production involved significant cooperation from the city itself, with 176 shots filmed across various locations. More than 100 local residents participated, contributed, and helped in bringing this vision to life. This effort transcends mere entertainment; it embodies Shenzhen's enthusiasm and pride as it prepares to host one of the most significant international gatherings.

Welcoming the World

As Shenzhen confidently embraces its role as the APEC host city, the theme song and its accompanying video extend a warm invitation to guests and representatives attending from around the globe. The city's message is clear: it is ready to not just host, but to create unforgettable moments fostering growth, connections, and shared experiences among the attendees.

Through this musical initiative and powerful visual storytelling, Shenzhen seeks to highlight its growth story and collective aspirations while also establishing itself as a central hub for cultural exchange and international cooperation. The theme song "Meet You Where Wonders Bloom" stands not only as a celebration of the present but also as a beacon of hope for the dreams of a more interconnected Asia-Pacific community.

As the countdown continues towards APEC China 2026, Shenzhen is setting the stage for what promises to be a remarkable gathering that reflects the city's welcoming spirit and commitment to a brighter, cooperative future.
