Introduction to the Performance UP Challenge
In an exciting collaboration between High Altitude Management and SBI Arapromo, a groundbreaking program named
Performance UP Challenge is set to launch on May 1, 2025. This initiative combines the rigorous training of high-altitude exercises with the scientifically backed supplement
5-Aminolevulinic Acid (5-ALA). Designed for anyone looking to elevate their fitness regime, this two-month challenge promises to enhance physical performance significantly.
The Science Behind the Training
Understanding 5-ALA
5-ALA is a natural amino acid known for its essential role in energy production at the cellular level, particularly within mitochondria. It enhances the activity of cytochrome c oxidase, a crucial enzyme in cellular respiration, thereby boosting energy metabolism. Recent studies highlight its efficacy in improving endurance, muscle strength, and metabolic health, making it a prime candidate for athletes and fitness enthusiasts alike.
The Role of Mitochondria
Mitochondria are often referred to as the powerhouses of the cell, playing a vital role in energy production. Recent trends in health and fitness emphasize the amalgamation of exercise and nutrition as a strategy to optimize each participant's athletic capabilities. This challenge aims to explore how the combination of 5-ALA and high-altitude training can lead to significant advancements in physical performance.
Program Overview
Duration and Locations
The
Performance UP Challenge will run from May 1 to July 31, 2025, at select High Altitude studios, including:
- - High Altitude Higashi-Nihonbashi Studio
- - High Altitude Funabashi Studio
- - High Altitude Shimokitazawa Studio
- - New studio opening in Nakameguro in 2025
Participation Details
The program is limited to
20 participants, with 10 spots available for existing members and 10 for new applicants. Interested individuals must commit to attending the sessions at least twice a week over the two months. Participants will receive a
performance measurement assessment both before and after the training, focusing on metrics such as lactate threshold (LT) values and subjective assessments on fatigue and recovery.
Training Components
Participants will take a dose of
drinking High Altitude (25mg of 5-ALA) before training sessions. They will also engage in more than eight high-altitude training sessions per month to maximize the supplements' effectiveness. Throughout the challenge, they will monitor their performance improvements, utilizing state-of-the-art sweat lactate sensors to quantify results accurately.
What to Expect
Through this innovative approach, participants will experience firsthand the transformative effects of combining high-altitude training with a supplement designed to enhance metabolic performance at the mitochondrial level. By the end of the program, they will have solid data on their improvements in endurance and performance metrics.
Conclusion
High Altitude Management aims to redefine fitness paradigms, ensuring that supplements like 5-ALA become a staple in any rigorous training regime, just like protein is for strength training. We welcome new participants to join this exciting journey of enhancement in physical performance.
