Metallium's Major Milestone: Launching Texas Technology Campus



Metallium Limited, a key player in the recovery of critical metals, proudly announced the successful execution of its initial chlorine flash, a pivotal step toward the commissioning of its first operational plant at Gator Point, Texas. The completion of the first chlorine flash represents not only a technical achievement but also embodies Metallium's commitment to sustainable practices. The proprietary Flash Joule Heating (FJH) technology used in the process is designed to efficiently extract high-value metals from e-waste, ensuring a lower carbon footprint through advanced recovery methods.

Since Metallium took ownership of the site, substantial upgrades have been made. Notably, the Texas Technology Campus now features extensive civil and concrete enhancements, new buildings, and intricate processing and environmental infrastructures. These advancements are crucial as they facilitate a comprehensive approach to critical metals recovery, positioning Metallium for future successes in resource management and environmental compliance.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) granted a Permit-by-Rule (PBR) on December 5, marking a regulatory milestone that allows for the commencement of commissioning and operational activities across the facility. Currently, key utilities, electrical systems, and environmental control measures are being strategically implemented to ensure smooth operations moving forward.

Future Plans and Operations



Metallium is gearing up for its Stage 1 operations, aiming for a nameplate capacity of 8,000 tons per annum (TPA) of inbound printed circuit board (PCB) e-waste by the third quarter of 2026. These operations will initially focus on the recovery of valuable metals such as gold, copper, silver, and tin from PCB feedstocks, with further enhancements in metals recovery technology anticipated in subsequent stages.

As part of its growth strategy, Metallium has initiated discussions to secure long-term agreements for PCB feedstock supply, critical for sustaining its operational goals. The company is also exploring the introduction of a gallium and germanium processing line, contingent upon the availability of appropriate feedstock.
