New Titles at YOMO Picture Book Corner

From September 1, 2025, Sanseido Bookstore will enhance its unique "Connecting Bookshelf" by introducing two new titles within the YOMO picture book corner. This initiative, a collaboration with Nikomo Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Koyosha, aims to bring a diverse range of literature to book enthusiasts across Japan, except in some selected stores.

Introducing YOMO Picture Book Corner

The YOMO picture book section at the "Connecting Bookshelf" features carefully selected titles from the YOMO creator's picture book platform, aiming to delight readers with unique stories. This September marks the third installment of this initiative, unveiling four enchanting works: Cup Cat, Ice Amusement Park, Ghost Rice Ball, and Oops, I Stepped on a Tail!. In addition to these titles, the YOMO Picture Book Award contest and various events related to picture books will also be announced, promising a month filled with excitement for all book lovers!

What is YOMO?

YOMO is a vibrant platform where anyone can list, sample, and sell picture books, making it a haven for aspiring authors and artists. Users can submit their creations for free, with only a few tasks possibly incurring costs based on workload. With over 1,600 published titles currently available, YOMO encourages passionate individuals to craft and share their imaginative stories with the world. As part of this initiative, the third YOMO Picture Book Awards will begin accepting submissions starting August 20, 2025.

About the Connecting Bookshelf

Launched in May 2024, the "Connecting Bookshelf" initiative by Sanseido Bookstore aims to create a unique space for readers to discover new literature. With the introduction of original shelves within the stores, the program showcases recommended books from publishers and staff as well as online seminars conducted by Sanseido Bookstore experts. This initiative is dedicated to providing visitors with new discoveries and joy through reading.
