CATL Opens the Largest NING SERVICE Center in Europe Located in Oslo, Norway

CATL Expands Its Services in Europe with New Oslo Center

On September 24, 2026, CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited) proudly opened its largest NING SERVICE center outside Asia, located in Oslo, Norway. This new facility underscores CATL's commitment to enhancing its service network throughout Europe, particularly in regions with a growing demand for electric vehicle (EV) solutions.

A Strategic Center for the Nordic Region

Spanning an impressive 8,000 square meters, the center aims to serve Norway and the wider Nordic market. As one of the world’s leading EV markets, Norway currently boasts an astonishing 98.7% share of new passenger car registrations powered by battery electric vehicles (BEVs). The increasing reliance on electric transport necessitates robust support in battery repair, diagnostics, and lifecycle management, making CATL’s new center both timely and essential.

Comprehensive Battery Lifecycle Services

CATL’s NING SERVICE is designed to cover the entire battery lifecycle. This includes testing, maintenance, repairs, insurance, and recycling, as well as second-life applications for batteries used in transport, energy storage, and robotics. Notably, NING SERVICE is revolutionizing the aftermarket by transitioning from outright battery replacement to comprehensive repair solutions, halving the turnaround time for complex repairs from 72 to just 48 hours. The center’s deep repair capabilities encompass around 76.8% of EV models, adhering to CATL's high production-quality standards.

Sustainable Practices in Action

As part of its commitment to sustainability, CATL has collaborated with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation to launch the Global Energy Circularity Commitment (GECC). This initiative emphasizes the importance of maintaining batteries at their highest possible value throughout their lifecycle and emphasizes recovering materials for new battery production. Miranda Schnitger, Climate Lead at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, elaborated that effective inspection, maintenance, and repair services are crucial for achieving scalability in a circular economy.

Training and Elevating Local Skills

The new center will also serve as a training hub dedicated to cultivating skilled green jobs in the Nordic region. Through a network of partnerships with 39 European nations and a cadre of 14 seasoned teachers, the facility will offer CATL certified courses along with hands-on training for local technicians. CATL is poised to strengthen its educational collaborations with Norwegian universities and technical institutions, thereby fostering local expertise.

Bringing Solutions Closer to Customers

This Oslo center marks a key expansion of CATL's local presence globally by establishing regional infrastructures and partnerships. It will serve as a vital link in NING SERVICE's European network, delivering high-quality battery lifecycle services directly to the customers. Bruce Li, President of Quality Systems, Aftermarket Business Division, emphasized the organization’s customer-centric approach, stating, "Customers are at the heart of everything we do at NING SERVICE. We are dedicated to providing reliable battery lifecycle services designed to meet the unique needs of Norway’s growing EV market."

As of today, NING SERVICE operates over 1,394 service locations globally and has ambitious plans to increase its footprint to 100 countries and 10,000 service locations by 2030. This expansion into Norway is a crucial step towards achieving those targets and reinforcing CATL's position as a leader in battery technologies and services.

Conclusion

With the launch of its NING SERVICE center in Oslo, CATL is not just expanding its operational capabilities—it's also committing to sustainable practices, promoting local job growth, and enhancing consumer confidence in the ever-evolving EV market. This strategic move places CATL firmly at the forefront of battery lifecycle services in Europe, ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities of the electric future.
