KKFI Launches Stunning Trophies and Mascots for Kho Kho World Cup 2025

A Historic Unveiling for Kho Kho

On January 7, 2025, the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) celebrated a landmark event at The Imperial Hotel, Janpath, by unveiling the trophies for the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup, set to take place from January 13 to 19, 2025. With the tournament backed by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), it promises to be an extraordinary showcase featuring 21 men's and 20 women's teams representing 24 countries across six continents at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.

Magnificent Trophies

The spotlight was on two beautifully designed trophies: a blue trophy for the men's championship and a green trophy for the women's event. These awards reflect the dynamic essence of Kho Kho through their contemporary design, characterized by flowing curves and golden figures. The blue trophy signifies trust, determination, and universal appeal, while the green trophy embodies growth and vitality. Intricate crystal detailing adds a touch of elegance, symbolizing the precision and excellence expected at this high level of competition.

Introducing the Mascots: Tejas and Tara

In another exciting announcement, the KKFI revealed its official mascots for the tournament—'Tejas' and 'Tara.' These lively gazelles represent the core values of Kho Kho: speed, agility, and teamwork. Tejas, depicted in vibrant blue sporting attire, symbolizes brilliance and energy, while Tara, dressed in orange adorned with traditional Indian motifs, represents guidance and aspiration. These mascots not only echo the sport's rich heritage but also its modern appeal.

Partnerships Driving Success

To ensure the tournament's success, KKFI has partnered with several prominent organizations. EaseMyTrip will manage travel logistics, while Star Sports Network and Doordarshan will enhance broadcast reach as television partners. For streaming, Disney+ Hotstar has been selected as the OTT partner. GMR Sports joins as a Silver Sponsor, and ticketing will be handled through the District by Zomato platform. Additionally, Shiv Naresh has been appointed as the official kitting partner, and ceremonial dress sponsors include Blackberry and Tata Taneira. To bring a cultural dimension to the event, Nayan Naveli Gallery will serve as the contemporary art partner, while Grant Thornton will support the strategic framework and Deloitte will provide expertise in analytics and operational efficiency.
