Another Works Launches Seminar Series for Multi-Job Practitioners

In an era where individuals seek alternative means of income and career development, Another Works is stepping forward with the launch of its new seminar series designed specifically for multi-job practitioners. The first event, titled "Are you stuck wanting to engage with education? Concrete methods to involve yourself in educational settings from scratch," will be an online seminar focused on the educational sector.

Background of the Event

The challenges our society faces, such as an aging population, the fluid nature of the labor market, and rapid technological advancements including generative AI, have significantly shifted the abilities and career paths expected in the workforce. In education, there is a call for a transition from traditional knowledge-based instruction to inquiry-based learning that emphasizes problem discovery and resolution. This shift is underscored by initiatives from Japan’s Ministry of Education, emphasizing deep, proactive, and interactive learning that trains students to face ambiguous questions and think from multiple perspectives in collaborative settings.

To achieve this vision, it is essential to incorporate expertise gained in private enterprises and local communities into educational settings, pushing beyond the confines of traditional schooling. The education sector is grappling with issues such as long working hours for teachers, a shortage of human resources, and a lack of opportunities to connect with external professionals who can enrich the curriculum. While there is a growing expectation for private sector involvement in education, many potential participants express uncertainty about how to engage without prior experience.

In response to these pressing challenges, Another Works is collaborating with RePlayce, a company focusing on career education for junior and senior high school students, and the Private Sector Talent Participation Promotion Organization (PPTP) to stimulate the creation of new contributors in education through multi-job engagements.

The upcoming seminar, “Multi-Job Seminar #1: Education,” is part of this initiative and will delve into questions such as,
