On August 12, 2025, Carolinas AGC (CAGC) proudly announced the recipients of the prestigious 2025 Top Young Leaders Award. This award shines a spotlight on exceptional individuals who significantly contribute to their communities and the construction sector. The winners of the Top Young Leader Award were celebrated during the 2025 Carolinas AGC Summit & Expo, a significant event held in late July. Among the honorees is
Anna-Bryce Hobson, who currently works as an Associate at Parker Poe in Charleston, SC. Anna-Bryce graduated from New York University, earning a degree in Politics with a concentration in Mandarin and East Asian Studies. With a wealth of experience prior to her legal career, including working at ATT in Miami, she played a crucial role in coordinating technology solutions for various clients, including national sports teams and clientele in China.
Anna-Bryce's involvement with CAGC began in 2020 while she was based in Charlotte, NC. Currently, she is an active member of the Young Leader Action Team, where she provides guidance to upcoming leaders and encourages others to engage with CAGC.
Another notable winner,
Pete Distefano, serves as the Operations Manager at Balfour Beatty. Since joining the CAGC Young Leader program in 2014, Pete has been a passionate advocate for getting young professionals involved in construction. He is currently in his second term on the Young Leader Action Team, where he has effectively connected participants with career fairs and classroom visits to inspire students about opportunities in the construction field.
With a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Construction Management from Central Connecticut State University, Pete started his career within Balfour Beatty’s estimating department. His dedication has contributed to many successful projects, including teams that have secured Carolinas AGC Pinnacle Awards. Apart from his role in the Young Leader Action Team, he is also a member of the CAGC Technology Forum and the NCDOT/CAGC Structure Design Joint Committee.
