Harvest Festival at Bay Village Farm
In a refreshing initiative that blends agriculture with office life, Mellow Inc., a leading platform for mobility business in Japan, is revolutionizing the workplace experience at Trade Pia Odaiba. On August 28, 2025, the newly opened community farm,
Bay Village Farm by grow, hosted a unique Harvest Festival aimed at creating a farm-to-table experience for office tenants and their employees.
Rethinking the Office Experience
As discussions about the balance between remote work and office attendance continue,
Trade Pia Odaiba challenges the conventional value of time spent in an office. The farm, opened in April 2025, embodies the concept of cultivating a communal spirit within the city. Their motto,
“Creating a Farm in Odaiba, Cultivating the City,” aims to foster easygoing interactions among office workers, ultimately improving their well-being and work experience.
During the Harvest Festival, employees had the chance to harvest leafy greens directly from the farm and enjoy a meal featuring these fresh ingredients prepared by a local food truck. This initiative emphasizes building natural connections within the workspace, making the act of commuting to the office more impactful and rewarding.
Experience Farm-to-Table at the Office
The concept of
farm-to-table revolves around delivering fresh, safe ingredients directly from producers to consumers. This trend, which is gaining popularity in Japan after flourishing in the United States, was brought to life during the Harvest Festival. Office workers were able to experience the farm-to-table value by harvesting vegetables and enjoying dishes crafted by the food truck,
&me.., highlighting the perfect pairing of fresh produce with popular dishes like
Pad Kra Pao and
Kao Mun Gai.
The food truck also offered a variety of drinks, including craft beer and lemonade, creating an enjoyable social atmosphere amidst the greenery of the farm.
The Role of SHOP STOP
SHOP STOP plays a crucial role in this initiative. The platform invites food trucks to various locations, including offices, apartments, universities, and public spaces, aiming to introduce culinary diversity into daily life. Previously, SHOP STOP has provided weekly food truck lunches at Trade Pia Odaiba, enhancing the local food scene.
With this collaboration, they are positioning the farm as a food hub that contributes to community building and well-being in the workplace. This venture aligns with SHOP STOP’s mission to bridge the aspects of work, food, and community in urban offices, bringing forth new values to the traditional office environment.
