Provident, LLC Welcomes Industry Veteran Jay Engels to Enhance Technical Sales Team
Provident, LLC Welcomes Jay Engels to the Team
In a strategic move to bolster its customer support capabilities, Provident, LLC has appointed Jay Engels as the new Technical Sales Representative for the Midwest and Central Plains. Based in Appleton, Wisconsin, Engels will oversee client relations and provide vital technical support across six states, including Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Iowa, Minnesota, and the Dakotas. With nearly 35 years of extensive experience in print operations, his addition signifies a key enhancement in the company’s service offerings.
This appointment follows the recent merger between Provident and Precision Flexo Gravure in 2025. The merger aimed to integrate doctor blade and end seal manufacturing with rich technical field service, thus enhancing operational support for customers. Jay Engels transitions to this role after a commendable stint at Press Color, Inc., where he served as a Technical Sales Representative. His professional journey has encompassed various roles within the print industry, including ink department manager, flexo plate mounter, and press operator. This multifaceted experience enables Engels to provide invaluable insights into diagnosing ink-related issues and their impacts on print quality.
Engels expressed enthusiasm about his new role, stating, “I am looking forward to working with the team. Over my 30 years in the industry, I have learned what it takes to deliver results, and I am eager to apply that experience to help with Provident's success.” His appointment aims to bridge the gaps between product delivery and operational efficiency. By leveraging Engels' extensive background in B2B sales of liquid and offset inks, Provident aspires to deliver a more thorough approach to troubleshooting for its Midwest clients.
The integration of specialized ink knowledge will shift the company's focus toward a more holistic consultation model in pressrooms. Provident stands out in the industry as the only fully integrated manufacturer of both doctor blades and end seals, which significantly enhances their troubleshooting capabilities concerning the interaction between hardware and chemistry. Engels will also be instrumental in training customer employees on effective ink maintenance, helping address recurring print issues that often stem from mechanical or chemical imbalances.
Tim Allen, the Director of Sales at Provident, noted that the internal teams have already started to reap the benefits of Engels' specialized knowledge.
