The ceremony took place in the Toshima Ward Office's main building, marking a pivotal collaboration aimed at bolstering the local area’s preparedness for emergencies.
Background of the Agreement
The Toshima Ward Vocational School Association consists of 24 member schools dedicated to promoting educational institutions in the area. Out of these, 16 schools expressed their support for this critical agreement. This collaboration seeks to address various challenges that arise during disaster situations, including a lack of temporary shelter for those unable to return home, the need for specialized assistance at evacuation centers, and a shortage of volunteers.
The agreement outlines the use of students and instructors’ expertise in disaster response, including effective measures for assisting those stranded or requiring special attention during emergencies. In addition, member schools will provide multilingual support for foreign visitors affected by disasters. This unified effort aims to strengthen the community's overall disaster resilience.
