Call for Peace: Robert Stryk's Open Letter to President Putin

An Open Letter to President Vladimir Putin

Dear President Putin,

My name is Robert Stryk, an American and the son of a Ukrainian immigrant, who deeply believes that the senseless killing of Russians and Ukrainians must come to an end. In these turbulent times, the urgency for dialogue and understanding has never been more critical.

As a libertarian, I advocate for the rights of political opposition, religious minorities, and the LGBTQ+ community. All people deserve the freedom of speech, worship, dissent, and the ability to choose their own paths in life. A strong state should not fear the freedoms of its citizens.

I firmly believe that former President Donald J. Trump is uniquely positioned to bring this war to a conclusion. America does not expect Russia to renounce its patriotism, culture, or national identity. My doctrine is simple: modernization without westernization. Russia has the potential for prosperity, innovation, and individual growth without relinquishing its own identity.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has a right to exist as a sovereign nation and determine its own future. There is more that unites Russians, Ukrainians, and Americans than divides us: family, faith, courage, national pride, and independence. We should not annihilate each other while more severe threats loom on the horizon.

The Chinese Communist Party is pursuing economic and strategic dominance, while brutal Islamist extremism threatens our citizens and our way of life. Instead of exhausting ourselves in mutual conflict, America and Russia should confront these significant challenges together.

Russia should not trade its conflict with the West for dependency on Beijing. An alternative path exists—one of peace, trade, private entrepreneurship, property rights, investments, and capitalism. The potential of Russia’s people and resources can be far better harnessed to build strength through prosperity rather than through endless war.

President Trump believes in liberating people from the shackles that prevent them from living freely. He respects strength, sovereignty, and national pride. He can negotiate a peace that avoids humiliating Russia, abandoning Ukraine, and sacrificing another generation of lives.

However, he cannot do this alone. I urge you, Mr. President, to meet with President Trump and engage in serious negotiations. Choose a future for Russia rather than another year marked by death. Starting a war requires strength; ending it necessitates leadership.

President Trump is ready. The decision is yours.

Respectfully,

Robert Stryk
Son of a Ukrainian Immigrant
