An Open Letter to President Putin

Dear President Putin,

I am Robert Stryk, an American and the son of a Ukrainian immigrant. As a pacifist, I firmly believe that the violence inflicted upon both Russian and Ukrainian people must come to an immediate end. In the current geopolitical landscape, violence only breeds more violence, and as such, my appeal is rooted in the belief that a peaceful resolution is not only necessary but attainable.

My core beliefs are firmly grounded in libertarian principles, advocating for the rights of political opposition, religious minorities, and the LGBTQ community. I hold that every individual should have the freedom to express themselves, practice their faith, and live the life they choose without the fear of repression by their government. A strong country should be confident enough to allow freedoms for its citizens, instead of suppressing them.

I also believe that former President Donald J. Trump is uniquely positioned to help bring an end to this ongoing conflict. America does not require Russia to abandon its patriotism, culture, or national identity. Rather, the Stryk Doctrine advocates for modernization over submission to the West. Russia can embrace prosperity, innovation, and individual opportunity without relinquishing what it means to be Russian.

Simultaneously, Ukraine retains the right to exist as a sovereign nation with the autonomy to determine its own future. In fact, I believe that Russians, Ukrainians, and Americans have more in common than what divides us: family, faith, courage, national pride, and independence. Instead of tearing each other apart, we must unite against greater threats that loom on the horizon.

The Chinese Communist Party is advancing its aims for economic and strategic dominance, while violent Islamist extremism poses a direct threat to our way of life. America and Russia should confront these challenges together, rather than exhaust our resources on mutual hostilities.

It is crucial that Russia does not exchange conflict with the West for dependency on Beijing. A different path exists—one paved with peace, trade, private enterprise, property rights, investments, and capitalism. The Russian populace and its abundant resources could yield greater strength through prosperity, rather than through unending warfare.

President Trump believes in dismantling the chains that hinder people from living freely. He respects strength, sovereignty, and national pride, and he possesses the capability to negotiate a peace agreement that does not humiliate Russia, abandon Ukraine, or condemn another generation to war.

However, he cannot do it alone.

I implore you, President Putin, to meet with President Trump. Engage in serious dialogue. Prioritize the future of Russia over another year filled with deaths and devastation. Strength can initiate war, but true leadership is what can bring it to a close. President Trump is ready to lead. The decision rests with you.
