CS Energy and Calibrant Energy Enhance New York's Power Supply with Battery Storage

Boosting Energy Resilience in New York: A Collaborative Achievement

In a significant move towards energy resilience, CS Energy and Calibrant Energy have completed three standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Westchester County, New York. This new portfolio aims to strengthen the state's energy infrastructure and support the electric grid during peak demand periods

The projects, located in the towns of Hawthorne, Yorktown, and Ossining, showcase Tesla's innovative MegaPack2XL technology, providing 4.9 MW, 4.2 MW, and 4.3 MW respectively. These installations are designed to act as a buffer during seasonal demand spikes, helping to ensure a stable energy supply for local communities.

Each site came with its own set of challenges, necessitating careful planning and execution. For instance, the Highland project at St. Augustine's church and school campus and the Broadway site, which is situated on local church property, required meticulous scheduling to align with school activities and community events. John Schoeb, Head of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality at Enel X North America, praised CS Energy's commitment to safety and operational excellence throughout this process.

Project Manager Vyacheslav Gofshteyn emphasized that the successful delivery of these projects reflects CS Energy's capability to navigate logistical hurdles in deploying energy solutions. He noted the importance of close collaboration with Tesla, property owners, and various stakeholders in overcoming site-specific constraints and ensuring on-time delivery of the setups.

CS Energy has a strong reputation within the Northeast for its energy storage capabilities, a factor that contributed to their selection for this portfolio. Their competitive pricing and proven track record helped secure the projects, where the intelligent management of data and utility interactions was critical for determining charge and discharge commands efficiently.

The advances made through these projects will not only enhance energy resilience but also contribute to New York's broader goals of sustainable energy development. By harnessing cutting-edge technology and strategic planning, CS Energy is helping to pave the way for a more robust energy infrastructure in the state.

This initiative is a testament to CS Energy's industry leadership in renewable energy, having effectively designed and installed over 2 GW of solar power and 650 MWh of energy storage projects across the United States. As a trusted partner in the renewable energy sector, CS Energy aims to continue optimizing energy storage solutions while fostering stronger relationships with utilities, customers, and landowners.

In summary, the completion of the battery storage projects marks a key enhancement to New York’s electrical grid, equipping it to better handle demand fluctuations and ensuring reliable energy access for the future. This partnership not only fosters innovation and sustainability but also underlines the essential role of collaborative efforts in addressing today's energy challenges.
