This correlation is crucial, especially considering that 74% of respondents are inclined to explore new job opportunities if they do not receive recognition.

Given that many organizations are returning to five days of in-office work, the necessity for recognition becomes even more significant. The survey revealed that 96% of participants felt that companies enforcing this in-person requirement should celebrate Employee Appreciation Day—a clear call for action from businesses navigating this new normal.

The Impact of Recognition on Business Success



The prevailing notion among respondents is that recognition leads to business success. An astounding 98% believe that companies that recognize their employees on Employee Appreciation Day are likely to be more successful overall. Furthermore, the same percentage thinks that such acknowledgment enhances a company's chances of making it onto the prestigious Fortune 500 list. This connects to a broader understanding that a motivated and recognized workforce drives better outcomes.

Preferred Gifts: Cookies Over Flowers



When it comes to celebrating employees, the survey also delved into preferences for gifts given on Employee Appreciation Day. The clear favorite among respondents was warm cookies, with 136 mentions. This suggests a trend that veers away from traditional gifts like flowers and emphasizes a more personal and comforting approach to appreciation. Other popular choices included a catered lunch (107), cash (105), cards (41), and donuts (36).
