This keenly awaited event not only showcased a variety of innovative products but also emphasized the company’s enduring commitment to environmental responsibility.

A Commitment to the Future



Chris Peel, Rheem's President and CEO, along with Alex Housten, COO, and Chee Wee Gan, Senior VP of Strategy and Sustainability, launched an ambitious vision encompassing significant sustainability targets aimed at 2035 and beyond. This plan, part of Rheem's A Greater Degree of Good™ initiative, underscores their proactive approach towards environmental stewardship.

Key Goals of the 2035 Sustainability Roadmap


1. Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Rheem aims to cut its greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 30% throughout the lifecycle of its products by 2035. This metric will consider all scopes of emissions, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of environmental impact.
2. Innovative Packaging Solutions: The company has set a target for 90% of its packaging to be either reusable, recyclable, or compostable, or to contain at least 50% recycled content.
3. Zero Waste to Landfill Initiative: Rheem plans to maintain its zero waste to landfill (ZWTL) status across all manufacturing facilities and extend this initiative to any future acquisitions.
4. Waste Intensity Reduction: Aiming to diminish global waste intensity by 10%, Rheem is determined to enhance its recycling efforts effectively.
5. Comprehensive Training Programs: Rheem is on track to provide one million training sessions for plumbers, contractors, and industry influencers globally. These sessions will focus on sustainable product applications, refrigerant management, and best practices in the industry.

Mike Branson, President of Rheem Global Air and Chairman of the 2026 AHRI, expressed pride in Rheem’s sustainability efforts, noting the company's track record of exceeding its previous goals. He conveyed confidence in the capability of the Rheem team to achieve these new environmental objectives as they advance toward 2035.
