Experience a Unique Chinese Afternoon Tea Inspired by the Moon at The Royal Park Hotel

Discover Autumn Delicacies at The Royal Park Hotel's Moon-Viewing Chinese Afternoon Tea

The Royal Park Hotel, located in the heart of Tokyo's Nihonbashi district, is set to unveil its enchanting "Moon-Viewing Chinese Afternoon Tea" from September 1 to September 25, 2026. This limited-time offering, held at the B1F Chinese restaurant "Keikaen," showcases the beauty of autumn under the glow of the full moon, inviting guests to enjoy a delightful culinary experience.

A Culinary Journey through the Moonlit Night

This unique afternoon tea begins with a beautifully arranged platter that captures the essence of the autumn moon's serene beauty, featuring three stunning appetizers inspired by the legendary tale of the rabbit making rice cakes under a moonlit sky. At the center of this presentation lies a fluffy and chewy Chinese steamed bun called "Huamao," serving as the base for the delightful "Moon-viewing Burger." This burger features a flavorful patty seasoned with rich chili sauce, sandwiched between lettuce and eggs, representing the autumnal harvest. Accompanying this are adorable rabbit-shaped mochi filled with sweet red bean paste and milk-flavored rice dumplings, enveloping guests in a nostalgic taste of moonlit celebrations.

Surrounding the central steamed bun, the tea set also includes a variety of seasonal dumplings that capture the essence of autumn. Guests can indulge in the luxurious flavors of the Shanghai crab meat soup dumplings and the inviting prawn dumplings resembling chestnuts, showcasing winter chestnuts adorning the top. Furthermore, the delightful pumpkin-shaped steamed dumplings add an extra touch of seasonal charm. The dish even includes fried prawns tossed in rich chestnut mayonnaise, balancing sweetness and flavor. The final touch is the savory steamed dumplings filled with scallops and porcini mushrooms, elevating the experience with their sublime aroma.

For dessert, the beautiful pink and white contrast of fig-infused almond tofu and subtly sweet pumpkin mooncakes offer a perfect finish. Decadent chestnut cream roll cakes, chestnut tiramisu, and sweet potato-filled sesame dumplings highlight the abundance of autumn’s flavors, ensuring that each bite is a celebration of the season.
