The Role of CIIE in Global Development

Amid the increasing uncertainties surrounding global economics and pervasive anti-globalization sentiments, the China International Import Expo (CIIE) stands as a crucial platform promoting openness and collaboration. A recent event organized by the UN titled "Collaborating on the Implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda - How the China International Import Expo Helps" showcased the expo’s significance in advocating for inclusive growth.

Opening Doors for Businesses

At this event, representatives from companies like dōTERRA and Warmpaca illustrated how CIIE has opened doors for them in the Chinese market. dōTERRA, since 2018, has been collaborating with Guizhou, employing innovations to elevate the value of traditional Chinese plants while boosting the income of local farmers. Similarly, Warmpaca made its breakthrough at the inaugural CIIE and has since collaborated with over 1,000 families to produce handmade products from alpaca wool, successfully establishing a presence in both the Chinese and international markets while creating jobs and supporting local communities.

Preparing for CIIE 2025

As the upcoming CIIE approaches, preparations have entered a new dynamic phase. On May 22, a matchmaking event in Chongqing brought together nearly 40 exhibitors and over 110 local buyers, laying a solid groundwork for further collaboration ahead of the CIIE. This year, an exhibition area exceeding 280,000 square meters has been booked. Furthermore, the exhibition layout has been optimized to highlight innovations, advanced technologies, and new, innovative services.

Central Asia's Increasing Participation

The forthcoming China-Central Asia Summit will build upon this momentum to foster exchanges and collaborations. Regular participants like countries from Central Asia have broadened their ties with China through this significant platform. Notably, Kazakh businesses showcased a wider array of high-quality products at the seventh CIIE, marking unprecedented participation. The eighth CIIE is set to attract an even larger number of exhibitors, professional buyers, and visitors from all industries.

As CIIE continues to be at the forefront of promoting dialogue on open economies and inclusive globalization, it serves as an important gathering point for various stakeholders.
