Yutong Bus Launches Next-Gen D14 Coach
On March 15, 2025, Yutong Bus held a significant launch event in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, revealing its latest model, the D14 coach. This next-generation vehicle is engineered for a blend of efficiency, comfort, and reliability, specifically tailored to meet the demands of African roadways and passenger transport.
Design Innovations
The exterior design of the D14 is both stylish and functional. Equipped with LED headlights, which boast a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours while consuming only 30 watts, safety during night driving is significantly enhanced due to reduced heat emissions. A bold grille and a full vehicle lighting strip accentuate its modern and robust aesthetic, making it stand out on the road.
Inside the cabin, the focus is on comfort and convenience. The driver’s area features an upgraded dashboard with increased storage solutions and a pneumatically suspended seat, designed for optimal support during long journeys. This commitment to passenger comfort allows the D14 to accommodate up to 77 passengers without compromising their space or relaxation.
Enhanced Specifications
One of the standout features of the D14 is its improved luggage storage. With a redesigned through-type layout, the luggage compartment has increased by 40% compared to previous models, now offering a capacity of 15.5 cubic meters. This makes the D14 particularly adept at transporting irregularly shaped goods, addressing a common logistical challenge.
Performance-wise, the D14 prioritizes power and durability, delivering up to 410 horsepower. This exceptional capability allows it to navigate diverse terrains and cover long distances efficiently. Further enhancing its efficiency is the Blue Core fuel-saving system, which reduces fuel consumption by 8-10%. Built to endure Africa's challenging road conditions, the D14 incorporates advanced anti-corrosion technology suitable for high temperatures and dusty environments.
The robust structure, composed of high-strength 700 MPa steel, is designed for longevity, ensuring a lifespan of two million kilometers or around 20 years. This design feature guarantees an unparalleled level of passenger safety, particularly in emergency situations.
