Kumho Tire U.S.A. Joins the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb
In a significant announcement, Kumho Tire U.S.A. revealed that it will participate in the famed Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) for the first time in 2025. This iconic motorsports event, known as the "Race to the Clouds," presents an exciting opportunity for the tire manufacturer to demonstrate its commitment to performance and innovation through the launch of its Ecsta V730 tires.
The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is an extraordinary challenge, featuring an arduous 12.42-mile course loaded with 156 turns that climbs from an elevation of 9,300 feet to a staggering 14,115 feet at the summit. This year's race will place Kumho's products under the spotlight, as the brand supports three competitors in the Open Division: Dan Aweida and Trevor Aweida, who will race a Ford Mustang Boss and Audi 4000 respectively; and Jack Penley, who will be competing in a Volkswagen Golf R32. All vehicles will be fitted with the specially designed Kumho Tire Ecsta V730, which has been engineered for enhanced grip and superior handling – essential traits for conquering the challenging terrain.
At the PPIHC Fan Fest on June 20, attendees will have the chance to meet the drivers and learn more about the innovative tire technology that Kumho Tire represents. This event serves as a platform for the brand to engage with motorsport enthusiasts and showcase its dedication to high performance, resonating with its mantra of “Performance Without Compromise.”
Ed Cho, the CEO of Kumho Tire U.S.A., expressed excitement about this new chapter in the company's history. "The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb partnership underscores our brand motto and our commitment to delivering outstanding product performance on both track and road. This participation in PPIHC is just the beginning of what we aim to achieve in motorsports moving forward," stated Cho.
The Aweida Racing Team, comprising father-son duo Dan and Trevor, is particularly noteworthy as they have a long-standing history at this prestigious event, racing for ten and five years respectively. Adding the expertise of Jack Penley, a Denver native racing in his second consecutive year, Kumho Tire is strategically positioning itself within a competitive motorsport community.
As fans look forward to the race, they can anticipate a thrilling display of speed and skill alongside Kumho's tire expertise. This collaborative effort not only seeks to enhance brand visibility but also represents Kumho Tire’s ongoing commitment to quality and innovation in tire manufacturing. By actively participating in such high-profile events, Kumho aims to solidify its reputation as a leading tire manufacturer dedicated to performance in every aspect of its business.
