Yondr Group Welcomes John Madden as Chief Data Center Officer
Yondr Group, a significant player in the global data center landscape, is poised for expansion with the introduction of John Madden as its new Chief Data Center Officer. This high-profile appointment, announced on October 7, 2025, marks a strategic move within the company as it aims to bolster its hyperscale data center delivery strategy.
Madden brings over 20 years of rich experience in infrastructure and data center operations. He most recently spent more than a decade at Microsoft in the EMEA region, where he excelled as Senior Director in the EMEA Construction Portfolio. In this role, he was pivotal in shaping hyperscale delivery processes, overseeing extensive capital projects, and managing teams dedicated to infrastructure delivery.
Prior to his tenure at Microsoft, Madden honed his expertise at PM Group for nearly nine years. There, he took on critical functions within data center delivery teams, focusing on mission-critical facilities, design, construction, and commissioning roles. His leadership has been integral in delivering almost 700 megawatts (MW) of data center capacity throughout EMEA, underscoring his capability to drive large-scale projects to successful completion.
In light of his new position at Yondr, Madden expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I'm excited to join Yondr at such a transformative time for the company. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on building teams based on trust, accountability, and a shared purpose. This role allows me to apply my experience within a dynamic, high-growth environment.” His commitment to safety and operational excellence has consistently led his teams to deliver complex data center infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
Yondr’s CEO, Aaron Wangenheim, shared his excitement regarding Madden's appointment: “We’re delighted to welcome John to the Yondr leadership team. His extensive track record in delivering hyperscale data center projects makes him the ideal candidate to lead our design and construction functions.” Wangenheim emphasizes that as Yondr accelerates its expansion to cater to the growing demand for sustainable data center solutions, Madden's leadership will be crucial for establishing world-class facilities marked by innovation and resilience.
This new role comes at a time of significant progress for Yondr Group. Recently, the company announced its ambitious plans for a sprawling 163-acre campus in Lancaster, Texas, which is projected to host a 550MW data center. This expansion further highlights Yondr's strategic importance in the evolving landscape of digital infrastructure.
As the demand for reliable IT infrastructure continues to surge, Madden is expected to play a central role in maintaining Yondr's high standards of operational efficiency and responsible growth. With his wealth of experience and a clear vision for the future, he is well-positioned to contribute to Yondr's ongoing success as a leader in the hyperscale data center market.
Madden's leadership approach underscores his commitment to fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. As the digital infrastructure sector evolves, Yondr Group is set to expand its footprint under Madden's guidance, ensuring the delivery of state-of-the-art facilities that meet the demands of today’s technology-driven economy.
