Strategic Partnership Between LONGi and BNZ for 336MW Solar Projects in Southern Europe
Strategic Partnership in Solar Energy
LONGi Solar Technology, a prominent name in solar module manufacturing, has officially partnered with BNZ, an independent power producer, to embark on a significant journey towards renewable energy. This collaboration has been solidified by a Framework Agreement aimed at developing solar power projects with a combined capacity of 336MW across Southern Europe, specifically in Spain and Italy.
The Framework Agreement
On March 17, 2025, Luis Selva, Managing Director of BNZ, and Dennis She, Vice President of LONGi, signed the agreement, reinforcing their established relationship while marking a pivotal moment for BNZ as it pursues its commitment to expanding renewable energy capacity. BNZ is part of the Nuveen Infrastructure portfolio, notably surviving through Europe Clean Energy Fund III, which ranks among the largest renewable energy investment funds in Europe. This year alone, BNZ aims to operate over 500MW of energy across Spain, Portugal, and Italy.
Enhancing Renewable Energy Goals
The recent agreement also builds on the successful integration of LONGi modules in existing projects, where four solar facilities totaling 130MW in Spain and Italy are already utilizing these advanced technology components. The collaboration places a significant emphasis on innovation and efficiency, leveraging LONGi's latest Hi-MO 7 and Hi-MO 9 module series. Notably, the Hi-MO 9 series incorporates HPBC (Hybrid Passivated Back Contact) 2.0 technology, which is renowned for its high efficiency and bi-faciality, optimizing the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE). This integration signifies a major upgrade in performance metrics for BNZ’s upcoming projects.
Commitment to a Sustainable Future
Daniel Sánchez, Director at BNZ, expressed the importance of collaborating with partners that share a vision for a sustainable future. This agreement signifies a substantial leap towards delivering high-quality and efficient renewable energy solutions. Furthermore, Luis Selva highlighted that they are committed to driving forward the energy transition and that this partnership is emblematic of their strategic vision towards growth in the renewable sector.
Francois CUI, President of LONGi Europe, remarked on the collaborative efforts driving innovation, stating that this partnership represents a new benchmark for the industry, creating opportunities for both companies and setting the stage for significant advancements in clean energy technologies.
The signing of this Framework Agreement not only exhibits BNZ's dedication to increasing solar energy projects but also indicates a willingness to form strong alliances within the industry. As the demand for clean energy continues to grow, this collaboration is a crucial step toward a sustainable future in Europe.
Looking Ahead
With the rise in demand for renewable resources, the partnership between LONGi and BNZ is a timely response to global energy needs. This merger of interests anticipates accelerating the adoption of clean energy solutions while also establishing a robust business structure that benefits both organizations. As 2025 unfolds, stakeholders will watch closely as this ambitious project progresses, potentially reshaping the European renewable landscape.
By focusing on sustainable practices and harnessing the latest technologies in solar energy, LONGi and BNZ are well-positioned to make substantial contributions towards a greener future. The collaboration speaks volumes about a shared objective of advancing renewable energy infrastructures to meet both current and future demand.
