On April 1, 2026, the America The Beautiful Foundation held a historic event in Washington, D.C., to announce the launch of its ambitious national campaign aimed at fostering conservation and restoration across the United States. The event gathered leaders from government, conservation, and cultural sectors to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary and to outline a vision focused on environmental sustainability and community resilience.

Hosted by renowned actor Kelsey Grammer, the pivotal evening brought together a variety of public and private sector stakeholders, including the founder of Bass Pro Shops, Johnny Morris, and leaders from various environmental organizations. The campaign seeks to promote the restoration of American landscapes and waterways while engaging and inspiring future generations through storytelling and education.

At the heart of this initiative is a national IMAX film series, narrated by Grammer, produced in collaboration with Mission Partners Entertainment Group and Dorsey Pictures. Sponsored by Salesforce, Slack, and Uline, these films will highlight the breathtaking beauty and importance of the United States' natural and working landscapes. They are set to be screened in IMAX theaters nationwide, including in eye-catching 3D.

"We’re not just celebrating our history — we’re shaping our future," stated Dr. Emily Weeks, the foundation's founder and CEO. She emphasized the importance of pairing insightful storytelling with actionable, measurable outcomes. This campaign aims to restore millions of acres of land, ensure clean water accessibility, enhance wildfire resilience, and strengthen the economy—all while nurturing the awareness and involvement of the next generation.

In addition to the film series, the foundation announced an educational initiative tailored for schools. This collaboration will integrate the film series into curricula across the country, supported by various educational institutions. In recognition of National Garden Day, the foundation will also implement a garden-based learning program in 100 schools nationwide, with plans for expansion to 500 schools.

To strengthen its conservation objectives, the foundation is partnering with the Reforest America Impact Fund to kickstart one of the country's most extensive reforestation efforts, aiming to revitalize up to 10 million acres of degraded and wildfire-impacted forests. This initiative will involve collaboration with the World Institute for Conservation and Environment (WICE), American Forests, and local non-profits to ensure effective reforestation and facilitate public land access.

The event featured critical remarks from key figures such as Fire Chief Dan Munsey, who highlighted the urgent need for enhanced wildfire resilience and cross-sector collaboration. Furthermore, Dave Tenny, CEO of the National Alliance for Forest Owners, discussed the significance of sustainable land management practices in combating the growing wildfire crisis.

To tackle the wildfire challenges, the foundation has partnered with Western Fire Chiefs to devise a national prevention roadmap and improve early alert systems. Collaborations with Lockheed Martin and other entities will provide necessary support for frontline responders, including the upcoming Wildfire, Smoke, and Health Conference and ongoing fuel reduction initiatives.

In addition to wildfire prevention efforts, the foundation announced a clean water initiative developed alongside WICE, Florida International University, and MSC Foundation. This initiative aims to advance clean water technologies, restore vital marine ecosystems, and combat environmental challenges like coastal pollution and harmful algal blooms.

Dr. Weeks reiterated that this campaign is not merely about restoring the landscape; it’s about safeguarding communities and their economic foundations for future generations. "We have a historic opportunity to restore and protect our vital natural assets to ensure that the next 250 years are even more prosperous than the last," she concluded.
