In response to the ever-changing landscape of nature, SHIRO introduces its limited edition White Tea Potpourri, a product born from the unique materials found in Hokkaido's forests. The recent unusual weather conditions in 2025 led to early snowfall and strong winds, resulting in an unexpected number of birch trees falling. These fallen tree barks and branches, combined with vibrant autumn leaves predominantly from ginkgo trees, have collectively inspired the creation of this special potpourri.

This year's White Tea Potpourri is particularly notable as it reflects the “now” of the forest, utilizing the serendipitous materials provided by nature's whims. The birch included in this collection highlights the coexistence of nature’s fierce beauty and unforgiving challenges. Birch trees are not often found in untouched primary forests; they primarily grow in sunny spots cleared by wildfires or landslides, re-populating the forests due to careful management practices. However, with climate change impacting snowfall in Japan, we are witnessing an increase in heavy snowfalls, leading to the unfortunate fate of many birch trees.

To address this, we sought to creatively utilize the fallen birch trees in our potpourri, ensuring that each ingredient is embraced for its intrinsic value. This approach enabled us to create a highly unique product experience that reflects the forest's current state.

The release of the White Tea Potpourri marks the third year of this special offering. Previously, our potpourri benefited from an abundant collection of pine cones, but this year has presented challenges of lower yields due to seasonal variations. This unique combination of materials collected each year ensures that the potpourri's scent profile subtly varies, making every release an exploration of the forest's essence.

To use, simply place an appropriate amount in your favorite tray or dish, allowing its refreshing fragrance to fill your space. This year’s potpourri is characterized by its gentle yet sophisticated scent of white tea, complemented by an array of colorful autumn leaves, predominantly featuring shades of red and yellow from ginkgo leaves alongside the inclusion of birch materials. As you immerse yourself in this aromatic experience, we invite you to reflect upon the wonders of nature.

This potpourri is crafted from dried leaves found in Hokkaido forests, infused with a crisp and calming scent of white tea. By maintaining the natural charm of the sourced materials, this year features an enhanced presence of ginkgo leaves, creating an inviting gradient of colors. The soothing scent enriches your environment, creating serene moments of peace.

Usage Instructions

To enjoy, place an adequate amount in a tray or bowl as a natural air freshener.
Caution: Do not use near open flames.

• - Consider using your favorite tray to display the potpourri in your living room, or separate it into smaller portions to place in the entryway or bedroom. Alternatively, you can use the 'Perfume Diffuser Glass Base' as a stylish container (sold separately).
• - To extend the fragrance, add a few drops of the 'White Tea Aroma Oil' as the scent begins to fade.
