This March 7, join Our Rescue at the Woman's Club of Minneapolis for an event that blends comedy with a crucial cause. As we observe International Women's Day, this occasion titled "Comedy for a Cause: Shining the Light in the Darkness of Human Trafficking" aims to raise awareness about the grim realities of sex trafficking and the exploitation of children. According to recent reports, Minnesota ranks third in the United States for the highest number of child sexual exploitation incidents, making this cause more urgent than ever.
Headliner Marti MacGibbon
The event features Marti MacGibbon, a celebrated stand-up comedian and a survivor of human trafficking. Her powerful narrative not only brings humor but also highlights the importance of mental health support for survivors. Over the years, MacGibbon has become an advocate, influencing changes in survivor-centric policies at distinguished locations such as the White House and various state departments. She is set to take center stage, captivating the audience with her blend of humor and life experiences.
A Stellar Lineup
The evening won't solely be about laughs; it will also showcase an array of talent performing stand-up and musical acts:
- - Miss Shannan Paul will emcee the event with her relatable observations and engaging style.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. with a VIP pre-show reception starting at 5:30 p.m. The main show kicks off at 7 p.m.
Tickets and Sponsorship
The event is generously sponsored by KNOCK and Spave. Tickets are currently on sale, with prices set at $37 for general admission and $77 for VIP access. For those interested in enhancing their experience, two VIP tickets are available for $129.
