EY Shinnippon Celebrates 15 Innovative Startups for 2026
In an effort to acknowledge substantial growth potential in the startup ecosystem, EY Shinnippon, based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has announced its selection of 15 impressive seed and early-stage startups for its "EY Innovative Startup 2026" initiative. This awards program aims to incentivize innovation that contributes to economic revitalization, marking the tenth iteration of this initiative.
Since 2017, EY Innovative Startup has been recognizing startup companies with outstanding attributes in three key perspectives: business growth potential, product/service innovation, and commitment to addressing social issues. The initiative focuses on enhancing awareness and fostering networks to support rapid business growth amongst selected startups.
In light of accelerating technological innovation and evolving societal challenges, this year's selection features startups across 11 different tech or business sectors. These sectors include Agri Tech, focused on transforming agriculture; Equity Tech, tackling challenges in the equity market; and Optics Tech, utilizing advanced optical technologies. The diversity of these startups showcases the rich potential for innovation in various fields.
Each of the selected startups is assessed based on unique criteria set by EY Shinnippon, emphasizing their ability to significantly impact their respective industries and address critical social challenges. For instance:
- - CULTA Inc. is recognized for its proprietary rapid breeding technology that tackles pressing agricultural issues exacerbated by climate change, aiming for sustainable food production.
- - Alumnote Inc., addressing the financial difficulties of universities, has created a network of donor marketing and management solutions that promote sustainable development in higher education.
- - Nstock Inc. has developed a comprehensive structure for managing stock options and unlisted securities, demonstrating high levels of innovation in resolving issues within Japan's startup equity market.
Moreover, the health tech startups, such as
Jerikuru Inc. and
JiMED Inc., are pushing the boundaries of medical technology by developing solutions that enhance patient care and improve the quality of life.
As the landscape of innovation evolves, the challenges of social responsibility are paramount. For instance,
PST Inc. utilizes voice biomarkers to promptly detect mental health disturbances and advocates for a sustainable healthcare society.
Additionally, startups like
ChillStack Inc. are at the frontier of cybersecurity, employing top-tier AI technologies to safeguard enterprises from emerging threats while collaborating with government agencies to enhance operational designs.
EY Shinnippon is not only spotlighting these companies but also actively providing a platform for collaboration and growth through events like the EY Venture Summit and initiative-driven conferences aimed at fostering startup success.
The overarching message from the program's director, Ryo Sugai, is clear:
“Lighting the Way to Innovation.” This year's focus encapsulates the ongoing challenges posed by climate change, resource management, and the need for educational advancements. By spotlighting the transformative power of technology and innovative business models, EY Innovative Startup aspires to shed light on the pathway to a more innovative and sustainable future.
