Digital Hollywood's DX Education Initiative in Ibaraki

Digital Hollywood Co., Ltd., a leader in IT-related and digital content education with headquarters in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has announced the commencement of a new support initiative focused on the acceleration of digital transformation (DX) in education across Ibaraki Prefecture. Starting from August 2025, the company has been commissioned by the Ibaraki Prefectural Government to oversee the "Ibaraki High School DX Acceleration Support Project."

This ambitious project is part of a nationwide initiative to promote the integration of digital technology into high school education across Japan's 47 prefectures. In Ibaraki, the focus will be on enhancing the expertise of information science teachers while ensuring that all educational staff develop the necessary literacy regarding Generative AI. The overall objective is to cultivate digital talent within the prefecture and share these advancements on a national level, thereby revitalizing the collective efforts within Ibaraki.

Digital Hollywood's unique support will encompass various initiatives, not commonly found in other prefectures, including:
1. Teacher Training on Information II: This training will be based on the national curriculum guidelines for high school information education, with a focus on mathematical applications, databases, and AI technology.
2. Generative AI Literacy Training: Utilizing the company's expertise in e-learning and prompt engineering, new video materials will be developed focusing on the foundational knowledge of generative AI.
3. Technology Observation Visits: Coordinated visits to cutting-edge universities, companies, and high schools in the Tokyo area will allow Ibaraki educators to gain firsthand experience with new education models.
4. Practical Experience Sharing Events: Online platforms will be used to share successful implementations from designated DX high schools, facilitating a community of practice among educators.
5. Student Presentations: Schools selected for the DX high school initiative will have opportunities to showcase their digital inquiry projects through student-led presentations.
6. PR Video Production: Promotional videos summarizing the accomplishments and innovations of participating schools will be produced, illustrating their commitments to advancing digital education.

Understanding DX High School

The DX High School initiative is designed to fundamentally strengthen workforce development in key digital sectors by implementing curricula that emphasize subjects such as information science and mathematics. Schools selected for this program are expected to enhance their learning environments with necessary technological upgrades, thereby fostering interdisciplinary and inquiry-based education that leverages ICT tools.

For the fiscal year 2025, a total of 1,191 high schools across the country have been selected for this initiative.

Ibaraki's Commitment to Digital Education

In Ibaraki, the focus of this initiative is on elevating the professional capabilities of information science educators and ensuring that all educators become adept in Generative AI literacy. This project encompasses six core areas of support, aimed specifically at public high schools and secondary education institutions throughout the prefecture.

Digital Hollywood will provide training sessions based on the latest educational technology and collaborative learning strategies, promoting an environment where all educators, even those outside the information science field, can engage with digital technologies effectively.

Detailed Support Outline:

1. Teacher Training on Information II: This training will incorporate practical approaches to implementing and assessing the curriculum while sparking interest among teachers for digital tools.
2. Generative AI Literacy Training: New multimedia resources will be organized based on the demand for generative AI applications and associated guidelines, ensuring all educators are well-informed.
3. Technology Observation Visits: Educators will experience best practices firsthand through organized visits to advanced institutions.
4. Practical Experience Sharing Events: Online forums will allow for the regular exchange of ideas and successful methodologies among educators from different schools.
